At what age did your family stop giving gifts to your DCs?

I ask because this year DD is 20, and DS is 15. My DB and DS both sent presents for DS - and me! But nothing for DD 'because we don't give presents for the older kids'.

I wish I had had some warning that she wouldn't be getting anything as we opened the parcels together and were searching for DD's presents. She seems absolutely fine about it but I felt a bit embarrassed and wished they hadn't sent me something as DD was the only one in the family not to get anything off them.

I'm not being greedy, I wondered if other families had a cut off point. I have got my 20 yo Dniece a present.

We don't cut off. But the kids tend to get more expensive pressies while adults get chocolates, booze, a nice new blanket or something else practical in general.

DPs family aren't going to buy for him next year as we will have a child. My parents seemed shocked by this as they said I will get a present AND so will my dd.

Different families...

My DS has stopped buying for my ED now that she is 19 so cut off 18 which I think is fine.

I'm 25 and I still get a cheque from my man and great aunt - I always say thankyou but haven't cashed them this year, not since I graduated and got a 'proper' job, as it doesn't seem fair. I never bought presents for my cousins but since they had children, I started buying for them.

My dad's side of the family stop when the youngest sibling in the family is 18 (i.e. they bought for my older brother and sisters and me until I was 18 and then stopped for all of us.) Mum's side haven't stopped yet, and I'm 32.
