Utter bloody crap.

We hired 6 DVD after reading the Christmas listings and are currently on film 3

PowerPants · 25/12/2012 22:30

Us too missrlr. And bought box sets a plenty.

Calmisthemantra · 25/12/2012 22:33

Room on a broom is repeated tomorrow morning at 9something am. Bbc1

Bunbaker · 25/12/2012 22:34

Dr Who, Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey, The Royle family - I don't call that rubbish.

BackforGood · 25/12/2012 22:35

I'm going to disagree - thought there's been plenty on. Not caught up with the weekends yet though. There's been some fab comedy shows on over the last week - stand ups, doing the whole night - then I've got quite a few things I will want to watch before they go off 'Catch Up'. Some great kids stuff, and if I remember from tonight alone there's about 4 things I'll be wanting to watch. (Not watched much so far as had family round).

BackforGood · 25/12/2012 22:36

Disagree with most, not Bunbaker who I x-posted with Grin

Darkesteyes · 25/12/2012 22:36

Umm try The Girl BBC 2 Boxing Day about Alfred Hitchcocks obsession with Tippi Hedren.
Restless Thursday and Friday BBC1 based on William Boyds novel.
Ripper Street on BBC 1 Sunday (although thats the start of a new series).

wildfig · 25/12/2012 22:59

I decided there was nothing on TV this Christmas when DP pointed out that the BBC rolling news channel had been on for most of the day, and we were both still interested to see if there was any change in the weather forecast. Xmas Hmm

noblegiraffe · 25/12/2012 23:00

They used to put a decent new film on on Christmas day in the evening. Now it's all Christmas episodes of shows I don't watch the rest of the year.

copycat · 25/12/2012 23:18

... and who exactly thought that it would be a good idea to re-run yet another episode of Dads Army on Christmas Day when it seems to be on every flippin night anyway Hmm

LadyBeagleBaublesandBells · 25/12/2012 23:31

Oh, and where is 'The Sound of Music' on the schedules. eh, eh??
I won't buy the dvd, because I always expect it to come up at Christmas/New Year.
According to the Radio Times it's not on at all Sad.
Just how Wrong is that [anger]?

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2012 23:33

Anyone see The Royle Family? Sad It wasn't funny.

Snazzyfeelingfestive · 25/12/2012 23:33

When I first looked at the schedule I thought it was great for under 8s (plenty of Pixar, Dreamworks, Room on the Broom etc) but didn't offer a lot specifically for grown ups. Plus as noblegiraffe says, big focus on special episodes of series, so less good if you're not a fan. Underwhelming.

LadyBeagleBaublesandBells · 25/12/2012 23:37

I was very disappointed in the Royle Family Sparkling.
Did they have different writers?

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2012 23:39

I don't know Lady but it didn't seem the same at all. Very disjointed and odd I thought.

CatchingMockingbirds · 25/12/2012 23:40

I completely agree with you OP, tele is crap tonight.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo · 25/12/2012 23:41

I'm staying at DMs and I am so grateful that Mrs Browns Boys wasn't on tonight. Not only would I have been subjected to it, they would have talked about it endlessly afterwards.

Anything else is a bonus really Smile

juniperdewdrop · 25/12/2012 23:42

Didn't laugh once at Royle family. Love Call the midwife though. And quite enjoyed strictly.
I got the Artist on dvd the other day, will watch that tomorrow.

headintheclouds · 26/12/2012 00:09

I thought the Royle family was truly awful and will be slated by the TV critics tomorrow

Floralnomad · 26/12/2012 00:16

Hadn't turned the TV on till late and there's a number ones thing on BBC 2 and now a TOTP 2 which is quite fun . Can't stand soaps ,don't watch Downton or any of the dancing / singing celeb things and the Royle Family was past its sell by date about 7 yrs ago! At least tomorrow there will be some sport on !
