To drug my 12 yo?!

He is absolutely manic with excitement - despite this year knowing for sure that Santa isn't real. He hasn't stopped making noise since about 9 o'clock this morning, has been jumping around like a loon, has spent the last 10 minutes singing a song to the tap on the bathroom sink (yup!) and has gone upstairs with his empty stocking on his arm, pretending to be a snake!

Is it really so bad to give children sedatives? Some valium, for instance...

Although tbh, if I actually had any valium, I would probably be taking it myself tonight!

Yes sock both DSes have gone to bed, and all is quiet... DS2 was playing his guitar and singing "It's Christmas, it's Chriiiiiistmas!" for a while, but even that has stopped now!

I may risk it shortly...

Mine finally passed out, mind you at 5 she can hold out til 4am.

I'm going at 12.30, determined to get a good 5 hours!

Also this Baileys needs to be finished for some reason!

Bit shocked today as I asked my DD casually when she stopped believing in Father Christmas and she laughed, then said, well I know he is real but I know he doesn't deliver all the presents in one night.

She is 13! She wears make up. She has just been to have Shellac nails applied.

I was strangely pleased as it means that modern life, BBM and FB have not totally spoiled her. Yet.

I'm considering giving my 14 year old a neat whiskey in the hope that it might knock him out. Only the thought of him hungover tomorrow is stopping me.

I have a similar dilemma. I've told them that FC won't come if they don't get into their fucking beds.

My twelve year old has been in bed most of the day with a really fluey cold, he was hallucinating this afternoon, thought I was attacking him with a giant spiky thing when I tried to cool him down with a damp flannel! The other two are not feeling great so I had no trouble getting them to bed but I am worried that tomorrow will be a bit flat.

And ds1 isn't even home yet. He went out at 6 .

I have to be up to put the turkey on. I might do Santa then - they will all be fast asleep at 9 am.

InExit, this is the first year DS2 hasn't believed in FC. He'll be 13 in a few weeks too. :) I haven't lied to him before but I've ducked his questions, until last year he asked me straight, so I told him straight.

About ten minutes later he said "Hmmmm, I suppose it's good I know Santa isn't real now. I mean, imagine if I grew up and had my own children and I didn't know that I was supposed to get all the presents" !! :)

WIggly That's a shame, I remember having those horrid hallucinations!!

My DC are quite neglected tbh! They never wear pyjamas just boxers and t-shirts, I think they think we live abroad tbh! they look at me in disgust when I show them pyjamas, I still bought them more...

I've hit the sloe gin, so I don't mind so much being up still ...
I've got off lightly this year Maryz, cos DS1 is feeling poorly, and has spent up, so he's been in most of the evening and has gone to bed relatively early :)
What time are you up for the turkey?

Well, I'm back, and mission accomplished... But I made a bit of a mess of it! DS1 had the dog in his room... She barked as I tip-toed and rustled my way up to their rooms... So I said loudly "It's alright Dog, it's me"!

I went a bit OTT with the size of the Stocking as I left the normal sized ones in my last houses Attic! They are going to hear a clump and bang when they get dropped somewhere in the room...

My 12 year old is sneaky, his bedroom faces his friends.. Oh great here he is he cannot sleep! .....[argh] Sent him back to bed....

Anyway, last night, this friend parents were doing a shop at 1.00am, so they planned it all, waited until I was sleeping, friends parents at Tesco and played on XBox Live until 3.00am....I woke at 2.45am thinking wen had thieves in... no was DS in the bloody LOO.... and he cannot sleep

I would go sleep on his top bunk bed but then DS2 will think I am here and then forget me and open all presents...

Whilst I tyoped this he just sent a BBM broadcast saying 'Merry Christmas all I cannot sleep... he forget I am on list

Sent him one back saying 'hey get to sleep or I am sleeping beside you and no presets...' oh he is BBming back ...shit what have I started!
