To wonder if it's safe to travel by train to Cardiff at the moment?

We live in the Midlands. My dds, aged 11 and 9 are supposed to be traveling to Cardiff tomorrow with their dad to spend Christmas with their family in Wales. I have heard about the flooding but don't know whether I should let them go or not - is it safe? XH has down played it (but then he always does). Dd1 is severely autistic.

Also if there is a Cardiff meet up I'm not sure I could attend. I'm sure at least one of you is one of my former high school teachers and I would revert to being a surly teenager!

Plus I don't have children yet so would feel a bit of a dick.

I can assure you that wouldn't be me. I did see one of my former high school teachers today at midnight mass. She still dislikes me from what I saw.

I consider the time I spend on MN now as prepping for even trying for children. Plus there are so many interesting people here!

There isno child prerequisite! You can just be all smug that you get to sleep off your hangover.

Also softly I've got to 24 and cannot escape hangovers weeps. I foresee being teetotal once I do have children!
