Yeah it was about half 8 when I had it but not gonna risk it. Wasn't going to in the first place but my friends seem to think I should be 'fine'. Not worth it.

Safe journey home!

DowagersHump · 22/12/2012 23:39

You are very unlikely to be over the drink drive limit - there's not a lot of alcohol in Baileys.

So you're probably absolutely fine to drive. Having said that, I wouldn't drive after a cocktail because you never really know what's in them (probably less booze than you thought you'd paid for :o)

Lostgirl27 · 22/12/2012 23:41

So why do you stand by the opinion that I am in idiot for asking for some advice??

I would be an idiot for not bothering my arse and jumping in the car....but I'm not.

I wouldn't risk it tbh.

ViperInTheManger · 22/12/2012 23:41

Good decision OP. When I was 17 a schoolfriend was knocked down and killed by a man who had been drinking but was under the drink-drive limit. He came to speak to us afterwards and told us he would always wonder could he have avoided the accident if he had not had any drink and would feel the guilt of ending a life forever.

The experience of losing a friend and hearing that had a powerful effect on all of us and none of my old schoolfriends ever drive after even one drink.

It really isn't worth it.

CoolaYuleA · 22/12/2012 23:43

Personally I think it should be illegal to drink any alcohol at all then drive - because it affects different people to different degrees.

Good decision OP.

BigShinyBaubles · 22/12/2012 23:44

You made the right decision by getting a taxi.
Not worth the risk to you and other people.

Lostgirl27 · 22/12/2012 23:45

Viper very sorry to hear that. That's terribly sad Sad

Don't focus on one out of 21 replies op, that op may have a really horrible tale to tell you hence why she thinks you are an idiot.

You are not an idiot for asking, I prefer you asking than thinking fuck it and then ruining your own and potentially others lives through a bad decision.

ViperInTheManger · 22/12/2012 23:49

It was a long time ago now which, I guess, is testimony to how powerful the whole thing was. I would just hate to see anyone else suffer that way if it was avoidable.

custardismyhamster · 23/12/2012 00:02

Excellent choice lostgirl. Sadly I had a similar thing happen to me as Viperinthemanger, except that I was only 13 . Me and my best friend were hit on a zebra crossing by businessman after a long lunch . He too blew under , but still overtook 3 cars before hitting us . I got away with two broken legs and a head injury . My friend didn't . I know that this was the single defining thing that made me choose my career.

Am very boring , but if I drink , I don't drive .

Viviennemary · 23/12/2012 00:39

I agree. If you're unsure then definitely don't drive. You don't know how many units are in it anyway.

Lostgirl27 · 23/12/2012 00:48

Home safely and in bed Smile
