DaisyBuchannan · 22/12/2012 21:29

Shouldn't this be in chat? Not an AIBU.

Xmas Grin I don't care a jot actually, just always wanted to say that, like some self appointed Queen of Everything.

Sirzy · 22/12/2012 21:30

Great Xmas Confused

AchristmasnameIcouldnotthinkof · 22/12/2012 21:32

Your stockings must be bigger than mine.
Each DC has a toothbrush, orange or apple a small playmobile type figure and a small christmas teddy.
(They can't have chocolate because they eat it all at 4 in the morning) Xmas Hmm

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 21:32

Bah humbug... The lot of ya...

too much wine, = illetrate alt bastard was supposed to be in crimbo!

AchristmasnameIcouldnotthinkof · 22/12/2012 21:35

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 21:36

Mine have chocolate, but they prefer bacon sandwiches, and stollen and choc brioche and "bucks fizz soda and orange juice for them

Mines are about a foot long, my grandmother made them for my mum, mum passed them to me and me to my boys, they are beautiful and old and very traditional.

MerylStrop · 22/12/2012 21:36

What have you revised them from?

sound great, generous but not OTTT

gordyslovesheep · 22/12/2012 21:37

BACON shit I forgot bacon

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 21:38

Strike out fail, humbug

No boys will eat choc till it comes out of their ears, however crimbo day they love treat and adult food. Expecially the adult drinks.

Any other day they beg for coco pops and sugar puffs!!!

Awh they sound lovely ours are from a christmas shop last year because I broke lost the other ones.
They have chocolate for breakfast once they have opened main presents at about 8 but if they had it at 4 they would be bouncing off the walls.

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 21:47

I put in Christmas topic... "Is this ok for stockig fillers"

Magic flannel
Character soap and tooth brush
Body wash
Cadburys coins
Character lucky bag
Character stickers
Mini Lego sets
Mr maker mini activity sets.

However was advised children same age my kids wod want more grown up toys/treats/non wash items, wouldn't go down well etc...
So revised it and that's what I've came up with?

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 21:49

Oh and they haven't cost much, I got the Lego sets for £1 in the entertainer and soap, wash toothbrush etc... From body care.

Sounds good to me. DH thinks that sounds good too.

TraineeBabyCatcher · 22/12/2012 21:57

Sound almost identical to how we do the stockings, although Santa does normally give one or two (physically) big presents (a pillow pet and connect 4 this year), and socks, pants or pjs (mostly because at this point ds is more into the unwrapping than actually caring about the presents until he calms down a little) .

The rest is under the Christmas tree from us.

AchristmasnameIcouldnotthinkof · 22/12/2012 21:59

By my last post I meant that your revised stockings sound good to me and DH

3monkeys3 · 22/12/2012 22:03

Are we supposed to put washing things in stockings? This is news to me!

TraineeBabyCatcher · 22/12/2012 22:06

3monkey- I think its entirely down to the family.

I know families where Santa gives everything, ones where they have the 1 item the child asked Santa for in their letter.
I generally fill it with nice versions of normal things (ie fancy toothbrush, fancy shower gel), little extras, and a few bits he needs and then a big present or two that he wanted.
But that's the way my mum did it for me.

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 22:14

Stockings I do practical everyday things.. It everyday but more kid friendly treats.

Santa brings all presents, except the hoof present, as mummy and daddy can only afford a joint present.

This year its loads of arts and craft sets, paint your own canvas, bendaroo, playdoh, moon sand (first time bust Arg) build yor own castle, ship, paint a canvas, lots of crayola sets, paint your own piggy bank, etc... All from home bargains, wilkinsons.

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 22:15

Hoof... Erm... JOINT

AchristmasnameIcouldnotthinkof · 22/12/2012 22:16

Everyone does things differently.
We buy a big thing from me and DH and everything else is from santa. They open their stockings without me and DH and eat and play. Then we all go downstairs and open the stuff under the tree.

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 22/12/2012 22:21

How did you get your children to do that Christmas, I wish mine wod, but at 4am I wish they had the understanding that they need to wait til mum and dad sets up the camara, turns the Christmas lights on so we can see their faces.
