It looks fine. I hate waste - especially meat. WWYD?

I would use it. We waste so much food in this country! I wish use by dates had never been invented.

SledsImOn · 18/12/2012 17:55

No. I'm funny like that - no common sense, no idea if something is safe or not.

Hope you will be fine, I'm sure you will be.

I also thought it was mince pies for some reason - no hesitation about those really! I think the sugar content would make them fine.

NolittleBuddahsorTigerMomshere · 18/12/2012 19:51

Where's it from?

If Butcher's, yes I would use it

SM No, I wouldn't because not sure how long it's been sitting around or defrosted.

HTH

What does HTH stand for?

aprilrain · 18/12/2012 20:39

HTH stands for hope that helps.

'twas from a supermarket I'm afraid. But we have eaten it, it tasted good and so far no ill effects!

Thanks for that next question! What is a sock puppet?

ClippedPhoenix · 20/12/2012 19:15

I think a sock puppet is someone that starts a thread then changes names to back it up.

As the wife of a butcher I would always go with the smell, if its dodgy you will know about it. So much perfectly good food is thrown away every day because common sense went out of the window when sell by/ use by dates where put on food.

Pan · 20/12/2012 20:08

No, not two days. I'd leave it in a warm room for a couple of weeks, at least until some incubation is taking place, and it looks as if it's moving. Then it'll be fine. hth

No, out-of-date mince caused the Black Death, Hundred Years War and the Spanish Inquisition.

All at once.
