to give my friend musty clothes from the loft?

I've offered a friend all my DS's clothes from the loft. They span ages 0 to 5 yrs there's about 8 bin bags full and pretty much everything you'd need to clothe a kid. Having dragged them from the loft they're quite musty and crumpled, aibu to pass them on as they are or if it the done thing to wash them first? The thought of adding them to my current washing mountain fills me with dread!

I would wash them myself anyway (no offence intended to the giver, I just like clothes to smell like they're 'mine' IYSWIM!")

Just explain you don't have time to wash them; it's OK. I passed on a Jumperoo to a friend yesterday and made a point of saying it had all been cleaned with Dettol spray that morning, otherwise I know she would want to clean it herself - no slight on my standards but that's just how you feel, isn't it?

I clean stuff first, and wash clothes, but I don't knock myself out over it. I mostly now only give stuff to my BFF who can be trusted not to get offended when I ask if I can have something back when she's done with it (unlike my wealthy SiL who still has my tens, my respisense, my connecta carrier, all my newborn clothes, my mamas and papas snuggle me etc etc etc) and doesn't mind if I say I didn't have a chance to wash stuff.
