Lots of very loud talking from a lot of people. They used to have loud parties tgat went on til the early hours every other week in summer but since I complained to the landlord they stopped for about 2 months. Now it seems they're starting up again.

mine did that. i bought the loudest sound system i could, and when theirs went off at 3am, i switched mine on. i only had to do it twice.

Loud talking at 2am at the weekend in the run-up to Christmas once in two months? The bastards!

expatinscotland · 16/12/2012 14:14

Fuck that, it's Christmas.

Start complaining to the council about them, log all their stupid parties that go on after 11PM, call environmental health warden if you have one - some cities fine inconsiderate arseholes like this because there's no excuse. Ever. When you live in a flat.

i posted alot bit at the time i was in my old house and i remember a poster telling me they could get into my neighbour's house and leave a dead fish they would never find. they wouldn't tell me how though Grin cant think who it was now. i was loving the idea at the time.

Yanbu - if you want to party move to where you won't disturb anyone else1

moodymai · 16/12/2012 16:07

LessMissabs not two people loudly talking, a big group of them. If it was a one off Christmas thing and they were generally considerate I could overlook it, but it's been happening all year. Nearly every week in Summer until the early hours. They haven't been having parties recently because I contacted their landlord who spoke to them, and I wrote a letter saying if they did not stop I would take the matter further. My children are small, the youngest is 19 months and the family on the other side to them has a newborn baby.
Our house is up for sale but if they are going to carry on like this I will have to complain to the council and get a Noise Abatement Order. Just not sure whether to overlook it because it's Christmas or just proceed down the council route.

I got my daughter practising her cornet and afterwards played loud music. (we have a very loud stereo system) I get up for work at 6am a couple of times in the week so I'm thinking of waking them up as well with loud music, see how that goes down.

Just cos its christmas isnt an excuse to be downright antisocial. loud parties are NOT social, theyre not thinking of the neighbours. why dont these people ever hire a hall?

They could at least warn neighbours theyre having people round.

Ive SOOOOOO been there and we have to move yet again cos of it.

and as for loud music/shouting etc, ok, supposed to stop by 11pm, but you can give or take another hour, NOT going on all night, its not new year or anything and these types dont need the excuse 'its christmas' if they do it all the time.

its against the law and i would keep complaining to landlord/101 number/council about it.

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 16/12/2012 18:15

yes i think playing loud music at 6am during the week might get the message accross. although if you have neighbours on the other side maybe not very fair on them?

moodymai · 16/12/2012 20:54

No - they're our only neighbours
