We're in his home country....so he's excited to see his friends, some of whom he's not seen for years.

We have been here a week (it's a different time zone so we're having our evening now) and he's already taken them out twice in the evenings to see mates
( I have been working...am self employed and work from laptop)and then not got back till late....10.00pm or so...they are 8 and 4.

It's just too late. I go along sometimes...but I prefer meeting in the day. His mate has just called and said "Come over...bring the kids!" and I said no.

AIBU?

They've had a bigg day already and it's hot here so they're tired.

Their body clocks will be screwed anyway. If they are shattered, it's not a good idea, but wouldn't say it is unreasonable simply because the clock says it is 9pm because you are in a different time zone so it wont feel like 9pm.

Is it normal in that culture for kids to be awake at that time?
Are your kids wiped out & need to go to bed at 9pm?
Do you need them up at any particular time in the morning?
How long would he keep them out for?

MrsMushroom · 15/12/2012 10:17

Their body clocks have just got back to normal....were here for weeks....its not normal in this culture no.

Lljkk he's often kept them out till late...once till 12.00 midnight. I just feel DC belng in bed....not running wild whilst the adults drink.

Aren't they on their holidays, why not let them run wild if they're not too tired. ..

you are right, of course. but you might make one or two special exceptions...
