To play Valjean in the new Les Mis film, everything I've heard of the singing is its all a bit crap

All of the interviews have said this was never supposed to be a ''pretty musical'' - it was supposed to be raw, hence why all the singing was done live. And whilst they may well do it live in a theater, there is a huge difference between theater and set filming.
