to be sick of the soap baby story-lines?

First it was Rocco in Home and Away and now Rachels baby in Eastenders. There was Ronnies baby in Eastenders last year.

Its all too much. I know its drama and they need storylines and it does happen in real life. But I cant see how anyone could want to watch this stuff. :(

The only time I think it was handled badly was the EE story line where the babies were swopped

wannabedomesticgoddess · 13/12/2012 20:42

Im sorry that those of you who have lost babies feel that way. I would certainly never avoid anyone because they lost a child.

Anyway, I will report this and ask for it to be deleted. I never meant to cause offence. Im sorry.

Hi there
We have edited the title of this thread - was somewhat beyond the pale.
Thanks

I think that people were also offended by the way I put my view across on it Olivia, which I never intended. Thats why I asked for it to be deleted. The last thing I wanted to do was offend people.

I've lost a premature baby and do agree with you. The EastEnders story was the worst and that's why I volunteered to go to Elstree with MrsD and Justine. The stories at the moment that I've seen (I don't watch a lot of soaps) are just coming too regularly and generally not that well done. I enjoy the soaps I watch (even EE!) and don't want to have to keep switching off or over and missing out on the rest of the episode.

I have had three premature babies since the one I lost and there has been a premature storyline badly done at the same time as each one (Steph Scully, Roxie Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell) now I'm pregnant again and have H&A! Whether you think it's good or bad, there is a change in the atmosphere in hospitals during these story lines. I remember making a comment on Amy Mitchell (which was just before I had mine) to a nurse in the NNU, she rolled her eyes and said it had been terrible in there during the previous month and they were constantly having to answer questions/ deal with worries that had obviously come up because of it.

During our visit to Elstree it was quite clear that people like John and Bryan don't actually care what their storyline does to people.

Im sorry for your loss confuddled.

You have put what I was trying to say a lot more eloquently.

Don't people grow out of watching soaps?! I think once the same old story lines have been trotted out a few times its a sign you've been glued to your telly too long! Mind you, the same could be said of mn threads! Grin

What was the original thread title...?

confuddledDOTcom · 14/12/2012 01:37

There are people who have watched Corrie and Emmerdale from the start, so I don't think people grow out of it - some might of course, we all change as we grow older but not all.

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 14/12/2012 02:48
