To think that if you are a walk-in-clinic, I should be able to walk in and get an appointment and not told to ring back tomorrow!

As the title says really..

The local GPs is also a walk in centre.

Ive walked in this afternoon, and asked to see a doctor only to be told that they are fully booked, and I need to ring at 8am in the morning to try and get an appointment. Im also additionally pissed off because this is the 3rd day I have tried to be seen

I thought the whole point of a walk in, was that I could just walk in!

So AIBU to expect to walk in and be seen?

no, Did you mention you specifically wanted to be seen at the walk in centre?

WorraLorraTurkey · 10/12/2012 14:14

YABU a little bit.

They can only do so much with the amount of staff they have at any given time...and this time of year they're normally packed to the rafters.

There's always A&E for something that absolutely can't wait til the next day.

norks yeah i did, but i think it all merges into 1 giant thing so theres not a walk in gp and a patient gp if you see what i mean they just see whoever is there.

worra but its not bad enough for a & e and the earliest appointment with a nurse is jan Shock

In case its relevant to the unreasonableness the illness is a red lump on the back of my neck that starts bleeding everytime i touch it or change the plaster ive got on it. Yuck

For our GPs' "walk-in" surgery, which starts at 8.30, you need to be there queuing at 8.15. Not sure what happens if you get there mid way through the session. The only time I've been, I got there at 8.20 and was seen at 9.30.
