to think DH should get a sense of humour or should I worry?

on facebook, I "liked" a video about why women stay single (from utube). I had not "liked" it but just seen it (was on a mutual friends wall). It was spam. And also ended up on his page.
He send a terse message (he is at work) saying it was not nice of me to put this up, and what does it say about our relationship. I call to explain, baffled, amused. no answer. i send an email to say it is a misunderstanding etc. and remove it from my page.
he clearly gets the email and also removes it from his page...
but when I call him he is all tense, no laughing at the cock up, no apologies for the terse message.
what worries me is that he has no bloody sense of humour and that he thinks this is a threat to our relationship ....

you broadcast to the world that you'd rather be alone than with him.
no wonder he's upset.

you might not have meant that, but he has read it that way.

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 09/12/2012 15:11

What mistake?

You said you 'liked' it.

needtochangenow · 09/12/2012 15:12

yeah, but it was also on his page, I did not assume it was him telling me something - just that he has liked it out of politeness to friend....(he often just does )
But he reads it as a big threat????. this worries me...

No, i did not click "like" - it is spam, it went on my timeline as if I had clicked "like". it also went on his timeline as if he had also "like" d it too...so he could now accept it was a mistake

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 09/12/2012 15:14

So you are worried that he is worried about something so trivial
Really?

needtochangenow · 09/12/2012 15:15

should I not be? that he is now going to give me the silent treatment for it? you would not worry?

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 09/12/2012 15:17

I don't have Facebook. Sorry.
Your first line said 'i "liked" a video" so assumed you had done it.

I don't k ow how spam works on fb.

wait to speak to him in person. Conversations like this are never good by email or text.

Surely if the same happened to him, he will get it.

But i don't get Facebook so i would have thought the same as him.

AllYoursJingleBellbooshka · 09/12/2012 15:17

I would be worried too if DH considered something so silly as that a threat to our relationship.

Is there anything else going on?

HollyBerryBush · 09/12/2012 15:18

If he's a sulker, then you should have thought twice before marrying him. CBA with childlike behaviours.

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 09/12/2012 15:19

Tbh I have been with dh 12 years. And wouldn't worry. Because I know I didn't do anything disrespectful.

But I also know when I told hi. What happened he would accept it. And not give me the silent treatment.

If he did, honestly, I would laugh. But that's us.

Does he do this alot?

diddl · 09/12/2012 15:21

Tell him to grow the fuck up??

He "likes" things on FB to be polite??

So it´s all his fault really!!

needtochangenow · 09/12/2012 15:22

thinking the same as you holly..
he is super stressed about work, and it has happened before that i become the outlet fo the stress. nothing dreadful, just finds faults and is a PAIN to be around.

OP posts:
needtochangenow · 09/12/2012 15:24

diddl - always his fault Grin and I shall tell him to grow up and laugh at his reaction. thanks for the reassuranc that this really is not a big deal....

needtochangenow- "should I not be? that he is now going to give me the silent treatment for it? you would not worry?"

You shouldn't have to worry about something so trivial.

Does he make you worried and anxious about other things?

needtochangenow · 09/12/2012 15:29

yes quick , he does. that is bad, i know. must go as arranged to meet him after work, and child to get ready....

OP posts:
QuickLookBusy · 09/12/2012 15:32

A partner shouldn't be making you feel like that.

Could you talk to him about this?

maddening · 09/12/2012 15:38

Brady - dickheads create these things in fb that have programmes and viruses that when you click them they go on your wall as if you put it there and so propagates itself as each friend that clicks shows to their friends as well - some take you to scams etc.

But the op's oh understood it was a spam link once it turned up on his wall and is still being funny with op - surely now he can laugh and see he caught the wrong end of the stick?

amillionyears · 09/12/2012 15:44

He is super stressed. He is not thinking clearly.

What is he like, when he is not the above?

4aminsomniac · 09/12/2012 16:16

He is super stressed at work, but has time to look at facebook and worry about what's on there... !

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 09/12/2012 16:25

surely now he can laugh and see he caught the wrong end of the stick?

You would hope so.
Thanks for explaining, I really don't get fb.

I would laugh if this was my dh, because its all a bit silly. Especially since he should know its spam.

the fact the op is 'worried' speaks volumes.
