DH next week as he will insist that the Christmas tree gets tinsel, lights, more tinsel and then baubles, when EVERYONE KNOWS that it's lights, tinsel then baubles.

It's terrible that I have to put up with this EVERY YEAR.

I've got tinsel, beads, baubles and a hell of alot more on my tree.
In my house Christmas is definitely not 'less is more'!

McKayz · 09/12/2012 11:52

YABVairU, all know that it's tinsel FIRST, then lights, tinsel, baubles.

You have to cover the bare inner tree with tinsel y'know! Though you can be forgiven if you have a hearty tree on which it's impossible to see the inner tree for the mass of decs and tinsel on the outside Grin

dawntigga · 09/12/2012 14:10

Are you Mr Tigga Confused Another polarising debate on MN

Nothing would surprise me. They love MN on TWS. Threads were quoted on Friday. Grin

WayneDeer · 09/12/2012 14:38

No tinsel
Maybe no baubles

TheCortanaThatStoleChristmas · 09/12/2012 14:44

I love tinsel. Our tree isn't up yet. I am excited!

FellatioNelson · 09/12/2012 14:44

You actually allow your DH to come anywhere near the tree during the dressing process? Confused

Goodness me - how odd. Mine is only allowed in the room if I can't make the lights work. Once he's sorted those out he has to leave again. Grin

NO WAY would I allow him to make important creative decisions about the order/content of the baubley stuff. NO WAY.

TeeElfOnTeeShelf · 09/12/2012 14:44

Lights, special ornaments, filler baubles, topper. No tinsel.

::gavel::

Sparklingbrook · 09/12/2012 14:45

Ooh and tree chocolates. Cadburys though not the dog chocolate cheapo sort. Wink

InNeedOfBrandyButter · 09/12/2012 15:44

I don't do tree chocolates any more (they don't last) but candy canes look lovely and do last!

Sparklingbrook · 09/12/2012 15:45

I buy 16 Cadburys ones. If they get eaten that's it.

tinkertitonk · 09/12/2012 17:46

If you don't have tinsel (after the lights, natch), how do you hide the horrible electrical cable?

KenLeeeeeeeInnaSantaHat · 09/12/2012 18:04

I have tinsel everywhere. Xmas Grin

Admittedly, tasteful is not my forté. Garish, multi-coloured and spangly just about describes my lounge atm.

Oh, and it's lights then tinsel ofc.

StuntGirl · 09/12/2012 18:12

My boyfriend put our tree up when I was out at work last week. He did it the right way (lights, beads, hanging decorations then topper). Was v. impressed to come home to a winter wonderland!

weegiemum · 09/12/2012 18:13

In our house it's lights, tinsel, baubles, lametta and THEN CANDLES!

Oh yes, nothing like a large piece of dry resin-laden timber in the middle of your lounge and then set fire to it
