To be upset about feeling ugly?

We're getting married next year and have just had the photos back from our pre wedding shoot with the photographer. I look bloody awful in them! Sad

I know being attractive is not the be all and end all and being a good person is so much more important but I just wanted to look amazing on our wedding day and these photos just confirm that unless I have a head transplant, it's not going to happen.

AIBU to be upset about this? Or should I get a grip?

I HATE having my photo taken, in fact I am a bit phobic about it and get all sweaty BUT my wedding photos were amazing and we had a great photographer, he was a friend of my sister's and a press photographer so all the photos looked really natural. I would suggest trying another photographer personally.
Don't forget on the day you will be all glommed up like never before which makes all the difference especially in my case!

There are no ugly women ? just bad photographers!

My sister had one of those makeover photoshoots done and the photos were great ? could you see if you could get a deal on groupon etc for one and go before your wedding ? you would get tips on how to do your hair/makeup and how to pose. I think practicising in the mirror beforehand would help too.

Are you having your hair and makeup done professionally for your wedding? I recently had this for my engagement and big hair and false eyelashes can work wonders! Obviously I have never seen your nose, but if you think it is too big, a professional make up artist can make it look much smaller with the right make up ? my younger sister doesn?t like her nose and she does this and it is very effective. Like you, i can rarely be bothered, but on your big day, you will look gorgeous ? brides are always so happy.

Blame the photographer! I've NEVER seen an ugly bride - there's a luminescent quality to every woman on the day she gets married - you can't get it in a studio but it will be there on the day.

In the meantime, you've got until next year to sit down with a trusted buddy and analysis what you love, what you hate, what you can adjust , what you can hide and what you'll just have to put up with.

You'll knock them dead on the day - happiness and love make every woman gorgeous!
