.because they keep on letting the big heavy garden gate slam and i'm worried that they are going to damage it again and it makes a heck of a racket.I've already spent ages doing it up to prevent it from slamming hard but they seem oblivious to it slamming behind them.I spent a long time trying to get a postie to even shut the gate but i eventually made the gate easier to operate so he had no choice. What do you reckon?

Are you for real? They're shutting the gate behind them (that's how it was found). The rest is your problem. Seriously!

My postman used to walk across my grass everyday until he began to wear a fucking track in it.

He couldn't be arsed to walk round to the driveway.

After a very polite request by me he no longer does so.

why not jut answer the door to the postman?

I'm guessing if you are not in you have no evidence that he 'slams' the gate?

maybe you have a substandard gate?

a slow hinge will not add to weight of opening a gate if fitted correctly.
