To be cross at DHs work

He's meant to have a few days off (yesterday until tomorrow evening) but work has messed up the rota so asked him to go in tonight.

It's only for a few hours but our 4 week old DS is really colicky, our 2 year old DD has recently turned into a bit of a monkey and evening is the worst time for both of them and I don't fancy facing it on my own.

He has offered to get me something for tea from the shop but I'm so upset and cross that I've been a stubborn arse and said no (which I know is unreasonable).

Grrrrrr stupid work Sad
Surely reasonable to be cross?!

YANBU to be fed up. My DH worked lots of evenings when mine were small and I really struggled at times, especially when he was on his way out of the door and the baby was revving up for an evening of yelling.

Could he not have told them no though? Does this happen a lot? If so, he may need to work on his "Oh dear, ever so sorry but I've actually got plans for my night off" or get caller display and just not answer if it's work.

For tonight, if it's not too late, how about you go out now and get yourself something nice for your tea, while he wrangles the kids at home on his own for a bit!

Or tell him he owes you a takeaway on his way home.

He probably could have said no, especially since his boss heard me moaning that I didn't want him to go! He's not really a 'saying no' type of person.
He hasn't even gone yet and the DC are acting up! Oh im in for a fun time!
