To wear my mum's fur coat?

i inherited my mum's coat and it's been sat in my wardrobe for years - I didn't know what to do with it. However, it's so cold and the other day I tried it on -it is just so gorgeous and fabulously warm; full length with a collar that sort of comes up over your ears.

Now I am fiercely opposed to farming or trapping animals to satisfy some foolish woman's vanity ..... but but but ... these poor creatures (canadian squirrel I think) have been dead since about the 30's. Should I wear it? Or sell it? Or bin it? I am tempted to wear it, even if it's only in the garden or under the cover of darkness! WWYD?

I wouldn't. The thought of those poor squirrels dying a terrifying, painful death would take any joy out of it for me.
Sell it and buy yourself a nice fake?

HeartsTrumpsDiamonds - laughing yes I like your idea but then I would end up with 8 portions of murdered squirrels instead of one big lump!!

SantyClaws - "whispering" - I have done and it felt luscious, just luscious!

I couldn't wear it. It would make my skin crawl.

PuffPants · 04/12/2012 18:08

Honestly? It felt luscious to wrap yourself up in the fur of a tortured animal?

It sounds vile.

Rowanhart · 04/12/2012 18:12

I will look aft it for you. It will be much loved and valued Xmas Smile

PessaryPam · 04/12/2012 18:17

I would look after it for you but I am allergic to fur so it's fake all the way from me Sad

PuffPants - yes it did feel luscious. That's why I'm here you see; to discuss a paradox. On the one hand it is such a thing of beauty and feels - well luscious for want of a better word and on the other hand I am well aware of the obscenity with which this thing was produced. You will have seen earlier on that I am not able to reconcile these two aspects and so I will not be wearing it.

Rownhart or anyone else - it's all yours!!
