No, not to leave him there.

I've heard its a bit too scary and the website has all sorts of warnings. Not sure if its a bit mean to be thinking of taking my 8 year old there.

No, don't do it. My 9 yo keeps telling me she wants to go to York Dungeon and I won't let her! No amount of bravado outside is worth the nightmares afterwards. They really are scary in those dungeons. I second tower of london instead. Gruesome tales if that's what he is into but not out and out HORROR!

I went there when I was about 9. I loved it. But I was a bit of a morbid child,at that age I knew and would frequently tell people about the scientific Egyptian mumification process including which organs went in which canopic jars Grin

*ancient not scientific

My eldest DD (11) loved it. As did I. She also loved a ghost walk we went on

She was desperate to go so I took her in the summer

I'd not even entertain the idea of taking DD2 (7) as it would scare her witless

DD2 loved the Natural History museum though
