WWYD - buyer wants a refund - help

Hoping you can all help me and tell me what you would do if you were in my position.

A large paintball company donated a voucher worth £309 to me to use as a raffle prize for an event I was holding to raise money for my son. The prize went unused so I sold the item for £80 on facebay in August. The buyer has tonight emailed me asking for a refund as somebody has told her these vouchers are given out free to anyone that asks. (I don't know if this is the case or not).

I genuinely don't know what to do. I have already used the money she paid towards treatment for my son, which was the reason I sold it. I just don't have a spare penny at any time of the year to be honest let alone Christmas.

What would you do in my situation I feel awful.

Our school is not a registered charity but we do loads of fundraising, including raffling of similar sorts of vouchers- so are we breaking the law? I did not think so.

WWID? Ignore her.

That is all.

Institute of fundraising - no requirement to register, but can only use the words 'charity' or 'charitable' if registered.

Thanks everyone for your advice and replies very greatly appreciated. Not sure why I felt bad because I knew I'd done nothing wrong I think it just threw me a bit. She knew when she bought it that it was an unused raffle prize and money would be helping fund my sons therapy. I mailed her and said its too late money spent! I checked with company, as did she and they told us both that they only give them out to help fundraisers.

I don't call myself a charity I'm very clear that I am fundraising and the only person that will benefit is my son. I would never cheat anyone into thinking otherwise.

To be honest, like a few of you have said, I think she was probably just trying it on. It's made me feel so much better to know you all agree with me though. Thank you so much
