Wasn't there some talk a few years ago about changing the sucession so that females were equal to males? It's a pity it didn't happen while the change wouldn't have affected the current direct line to the throne. If Kate and William have a girl first then the whole thing becomes a bit more awkward.

I think the act of succession is still going to be amended. If it goes ahead then this baby could be the first female heir that it applies to.

the act of Succession needs to be changed regardless of which sex they have.
It should have been changed years ago.
pathetic that the two longest serving monarchs have been women, and Elizabeth 1 was a very successful one, too, and they still have to have all other options killed off before they can give the throne to a woman!
