After seeing this article:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2240111/How-avoid-Christmas-card-rage-Cut-mentions-children-reduce-smugness-add-bad-news.html

I wondered if anyone can defend why they send these letters to people? I get a few every year from people who never contact me otherwise and never ask how my family is...

I may be being unreasonable but why do you send them to people you don't otherwise contact?

I'm not corresponding... They are... And yes I can expect peope to personalise... Otherwise frankly don't bother.

We love these and would welcome more of them. Our grown up DSs regard them as the highlight of the season Grin,

I don't receive bragging ones, they are old friends that I have known for years - through all their ups and downs.

And they do personalise- they just use the bulk for everyone. What I think pointless is just a signed card with no news.
