To let DS (19 months) spoon feed me coffee?

Last night DS kept us up til midnight with continual waking and stirring. I then gave up, dragged the sofa cushions off the sofa and sent the night on the floor of his room so DH could sleep and so I could 'shush-pat' while lying down when he woke up every hour or so until HD woke for good at 5.50am.

Am now lying pyjama-clad on the sofa with my cup of coffee. A cute and giggly DS is now attempting to use my teaspoon to spoon coffee into my mouth with limited success. He them says 'Mmmmm' dramatically after every spoonful.

I am too tired to protest and am allowing him to do so while I MN on the iPad.

Lazy parenting yes, but will he suffer psychological damage and a lifelong addiction to mummy's 'wake up juice'?

YANBU. Its important to teach them the importance of coffee. DS2 (11 months) is a terrible sleeper. dS1, 2.5, frequently tells me "mummy you need coffee". Shame I can't teach him to make it yet.

Give it time, I'm hoping DS will master the Nespresso soon, am considering preloading the coffee pod so he just has to press a button...

My 17 month old is happily sitting on the floor with a packet of custard creams and half a cup of tea dip dipping and eating the soggy biscuits. For breakfast Shock

(I am flaked out on the sofa not feeling very well)

But surely you won't get the coffee fast enough??

I alternated with deep sips when he dropped the spoon (often).

Dinosaurs I am jealous of your toddler's breakfast, sounds scrummy. Mmmmmmmm biscuits...

Sounds fine to me. My 2 year old is quite good with the Nespresso machine now and often gets half an hour with the iPad while I shower. I think of it as introducing him to modern technology and important life skills.

My 15m is playing with the bag of coffee trying to get it open.

Sounds like a rough night.

DS often feeds me my cup of tea. He also is allowed the iPad until I am showered and dressed. He has also been known to say "iPad please." When I said no he said, "mummy away. Mummy cup of tea. iPad please."
