...that she looks like Rosemary Shragar from I'm a celebrity in the jungle.

I know her reasonably well and i get on with her quite well always have abit of achat and that, she said wasn't watching the show i said oh well .She definetly did look like her and her colleague said to me on the quiet maybe she would be offended if i said she looked like Rosemary.I felt a bit awkward and said no she's a super person and i hope she wins the show which was a bit of a white lie really i was just trying to big her up like (I felt like i got my shuffle out ) Over to you .

I would be mortified to be told I looked like Rosemary Shrager. It's not that she's ugly or anything, just that she's hardly someone you'd aspire to look like. She's plain, I suppose.

So I suppose your friend might have been offended. Or just a bit taken back. But you didn't mean it to be offensive, and she'll know that, so I wouldn't worry!

starlightlover · 27/11/2012 16:02

Depends how sensitive she is.

I think Rosemary Shragar seems like a nice women, but I wouldn't want to be told that I look like her.

Its hardly a compliment is it?

EllenParsons · 27/11/2012 16:02

I had no idea who this was but after googling I don't think I would tell someone they looked like her!

SoupDragon · 27/11/2012 16:04

I'm sorry, I can t help. I am giggling to much at "I felt like I get my shuffle out" and I have no idea who you are talking about

Have just googled her. this her?

I wouldn't thank you for telling me I looked like her.

I'm sure she's a lovely person and I know we aren't supposed to care about looks but I still wouldn't want to hear it.

CajaDeLaMemoria · 27/11/2012 16:08

Starlightlover and Hecate, you have just cracked me up. And said what I was trying to say so much better.

BlissfullyIgnorant · 27/11/2012 16:10

Could be worse, I know someone who looked like Beverley Allett.

Google away...

Why do folk feel the need to even comment on looks? I wouldn't dream of telling someone that a) it offers nothing and b) I wouldn't want to offend someone (unless they are a cunt).

Why draw comparisons?

CarrotCrunchersCrimboCracker · 27/11/2012 16:16

It wasn't meant to be a compliment it 's just a very matter of fact kind of statement.I've got another friend in a supermarket who looks like George Alagiah who reads the BBC1 news alot. i sometimes joke with him by saying "what time are you reading the news then?" he seems to take it in good heart and always smiles i wouldn't want to come over all horrid and beastly and just take the micky in not a nice way,I feel like he enjoys the fact he looks like George

OP posts:
HairyGrotter · 27/11/2012 16:17

I bet he hates you and rolls his eyes each time you crack that shit joke

CarrotCrunchersCrimboCracker · 27/11/2012 16:18

I thought the lady in the supermarket who was no oil painting would feel very much complimented because in fact Rosemary is much better looking so in that retrospect i was paying her a huge compliment i hope she took it that way and i'm sure she will be pleased once she sees rosemary.RS has lovely blue eyes also

It's nice and blunt on this thread.

And luckily I don't think I look like anyone. Ever.

Enigmosaurus · 27/11/2012 16:19

What on earth?

You sound really odd.

HecatePropylaea · 27/11/2012 16:19

Please stop.

I promise you he doesn't find it funny. Grin

Once may be mildly amusing.

Keeping saying it is not.

CarrotCrunchersCrimboCracker · 27/11/2012 16:20

Hairy i'm sure he doesn't hate me i would never start something like that with somebody who wasn't putting out a good vibe about it.I sometimes say Hi George Grin

Think this one is a piss take, or the OP is lacking in social etiquette.

CarrotCrunchersCrimboCracker · 27/11/2012 16:21

tbh honest i've only said it a couple of times.I sometimes say to the person behind me doesn't he look like george tiddlybush .is that being unreasonable even though he does look like his identical twin brother

You are one of those people, the ones that most people merely tolerate because they are not sure what is wrong with you
