'poorly' can go on the same shelf as 'tummy'.

I hate the word horrid. It's vomit-inducing.

'flavoursome' that annoys me. It's always used nowadays, where before it was hardly used.

apostropheuse, that's one's of my favourites. I am horrified. Horrified, I tell ye. What do you prefer in place of horrid??

And 'dicky'. Only ever really used before 'ticker'. Why?

Report
apostropheuse · 26/11/2012 22:32

horrible is much better than horrid. Horrid sounds pretentious and very Enid Blyton.

Report
WorraLiberty · 26/11/2012 22:32

Oh God yes...

Horrid
Poorly
Mummy/Daddy (when said by an adult to their own parents)

I don't mind tummy although I never really use it (the phrase...not the body part)

Oops, apostropheuse. I did read Enid in my formative years, and am now evidently corrupted. HORRID.

I confess to having called my parents (RIP) mammy and daddy. It's pretty normal here!

Oh and 'non' gets right on my fucking jugs too.

But surely you know that's unreasonable, non?

Hmm Angry Fuck off!

I read Enid Blyton too. However, it didn't make me into a ginger ale addict! So you have no excuse whatsoever.
