I did this a few years ago - Christmas was coming and it was a definite maybe (eratic periods but a longer gap than usual). Enjoyed the Christmas spirit ... a little too much ... and bled. Thought I was due my period, but bleeding stopped and a few days later the little lines appeared :)

Baby was fine but looking back I feel dreadful. Blush

Christmas is coming ... there could be a slight chance of another maybe on the cards (although guessing not just yet)

So - enjoy the lead up to the festivities ... or test at every feeling sickness/pound gained to avoid drinking at a few weeks gone? Confused

I thought it was 4 to 6 weeks. No, I'm not a doctor nor a biologist but I would never advise reading a MN forum as proper medical advice.

Why risk it, IMO?

I fell pregnant with DD1 in October and went on a bender a couple of days before my period was due (was regular as clockwork).

Tested the day it didn't arrive and didn't touch a drop after (had my head down the pan the first part of pregnancy and acid reflux the second).

Don't even remember feeling deprived over Xmas and NYE.

Not worth it.

Just FYI implantation takes place around a week after fertilisation.

With my DS I had a feeling, so did the test on Christmas morning and it was positive. Luckily I have always gone off booze when pregnant anyway, it is my first symptom.

He was born on September 5th, so it was a blooming long pregnancy.

With DS3 I didn't know I was pregnant until about 9 weeks (unplanned, so not paying attention to cycle, plus implantation bleed) But interestingly in the few weeks before finding out I had found that alcohol didn't taste right, especially if I tried to drink more than a little bit - so first glass of wine tasted fine, but the next was horrible and I'd end up pouring it away.
