Hi,

on my profile ( hope it works) is a copy of a class photo.

Done on a non uniform day.

Would you buy it ??

I actually rather like it Blush

The school does a traditional photo later on in the year.

£12 each ???

I love it OP. It's a really cute idea for a photo and it works well.

BackforGood · 13/11/2012 18:45

YANBU to like it - everyone's entitled to their own taste after all, but I think the school would BU to do them like that every year when they know quite a lot of people don't like them.

Now alternating each year might be better , so everony has the chance to get one in the style they like even though someone would miss out on Reception.

stealthsquiggle · 13/11/2012 19:18

Some of them are naff, but that one I like. Reasonably priced, and if they do a "traditional" one later in the year, then everyone should be happy.

DC's school has taken to doing casual group photos, outside, which I like because they give a much better sense of place than the bland standard background. The individual photos this year were a bit venture-esque, but much cheaper, and they got some nice ones of both DC together, which is rare.

Hulababy · 13/11/2012 19:22

Normally don't like the modern twist of school photos - but that one I like.

Some are dreadful. It can often go very wrong when the individual pictures are stitched together. School I work at had a big problem not long back as the children were all mismatched in terms of scaling - nothign matched up!

Floggingmolly · 13/11/2012 19:29

I like it actually. I'm Envy at £12, ours start at £22 Hmm

DontCallMeBaby · 13/11/2012 21:42

Ha, that's ace. I read this thread on my phone earlier and I was dying to get back to my desktop so I could see the actual photo, it sounded intriguing from the description.

Ours don't do class photos, which is a shame, I'd buy one every year and get all weepy about them all growing up. We have a whole school one on the day though. They do them every four years, so now that DD is Yr 4 it's time for her second and last. The one from her Reception year is fab - it looks very proper, but the longer you look at it the more funny faces you spot. DD herself is in the front row looking horrified because it's outside and there were WORMS on the ground.

CharlieCoCo · 13/11/2012 21:47

love it. want one like that.

NotGoodNotBad · 13/11/2012 22:09

DD's "non-traditional" class photo had them all making their hands into guns and pointing them at each others' heads Hmm. I bought the prim, proper, boring one instead!

numbum · 13/11/2012 22:15

I like it too. I don't like the one my DC's school do because they do photos of the children in groups of 4 or 5 and then randomly scatter them across a photo. My DC are never with their friends which makes it a bit pointless (but I can see that there would be children with just one friend or on their own so can see why they mix them up)

Just for curiosity sake OP, which box is your DC? Grin

boakornot · 13/11/2012 22:45

Just for curiosity sake OP, which box is your DC?

Centre , second row, doing a head stand Hmm

Tight fitting shorts and thick tights a necessity !

I quite like the modern penchant for silly action whatever shots.
Old-style ones are just dreary.
That said, OP's suggestion is probably not my taste, don't care for boxes!
Still better than dreary sitting in rows.
