and who in their right mind works for the woman? Every time I hear her, she is pontificating on something in a ridiculous and uninformed manner. I'm convinced her 'business' sitting at home, waiting to be rung up by some 'chat show' or news organisation who have been let down by someone who knows what they are talking about to spout some nonsense on any given subject. I'd love to be proven wrong though, just so I don't feel so stabby about the woman every time I think of her making a living out of making women feel bad all the time!

I complained once to the Jermey Vine show (I know, but its the only time I've complained to a TV / Radio Show) when they had on her on talking about the West Coast bid process, she had no idea what she was talking about just waffled on about Richard Branson having get up and go. Oh yes and being a man of the people. Which is true, so long as the people are millionaires.

fancyanother · 14/11/2012 17:23

Blueberryhill This I think is what annoys me most. She talks utter tripe, presenters are forced to conceal their contempt for her ( badly, in most cases) she is clearly a fantasist and she still gets booked! . Who can run a business with a website thats 5 years out of date? She was on Jeremy Vine another time too waffling on about soldiers. I was too bored to listen to her, but she was introduced as a 'officer' when on the Apprentice, didn't they say she had failed to complete her Sandhurst training? Any lazy journos out there trawling Mumsnet for some stories, Please find someone else to talk to- pleeeease!

Which poster do some of you think is KH?

I know it's not Xenia because I have it on good authority from a fellow MN that she is someone else entirely...

Although that would have been my guess if I hadn't already had the inside goss

OnwardBound · 14/11/2012 17:41

Oh, and obviously don't out them here fgs!

PM me if you care to divulge/speculate Grin

[It's not me by the way]

Marzipanface · 14/11/2012 17:51

She is a hideous person and a laughing stock.

I am pretty convinced she has some kind of personality disorder.

LadyBeagle · 15/11/2012 17:51

Oh, I thought it was Xenia too.
Can someone pm me too please.
And is Xenia someone well known? i was sure she was made up.

Marzipanface · 15/11/2012 17:58

Jesus. I need to know now. Please pm me as well.
(desperate)

HazeltheMcWitch · 15/11/2012 18:29

I hate it when there's just a series of 'PM me please' posts on a thread.

But, erm, PM me please?!

amarylisnightandday · 15/11/2012 19:00

You can get mn t shirts? Grin

Wallison · 15/11/2012 19:58

I agree - this 'PM me' thing is driving me nuts.

However, if someone could PM me ... please ....?

BlueberryHill · 15/11/2012 20:13

Snap, I'd love to know, please er PM me too

Pandemoniaa · 15/11/2012 20:18

Katie should indeed avoid the Third Person. It makes Katie sound like a fuckwit.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 15/11/2012 20:21

Nothing says serious about business like 'a passion for shoes'. Twit. You might as well write 'and I'm a dilettante and have boobs' on your resume.

ClareMarriott · 16/11/2012 09:32

I know I might bet a lot of flack from saying this but apart from HazeltheMcWitch NONE of you have met her but seem to be able to provide rather scathing opinions of her based on what ? . You might not like her but if the coin was flipped , would you all like to receive the comments you have left about her ?

Wallison · 16/11/2012 09:35

Meh. She deliberately puts herself in the public eye in order to generate 'controversy' - the only way she got known at all was through being a contestant on a reality tv show.

And I think we're allowed to have opinions about people on the telly, even if - indeed maybe especially if - those opinions are not what the people we are watching would like us to think. Or should we just become passive consumers of popular culture, questioning nothing and if we comment at all only saying 'nice things'?

TheBigJessie · 16/11/2012 09:48

Whatever her small business is, it has evidently remained rather small, in terms of income generated. She's constantly bitterly complaining about the expense of childcare and the unbearable cost to the employer of abiding by employment laws.

LadyBeagle · 16/11/2012 09:57

There's lot's of slebs and politicians and people in the public eye that we don't know Clare, does that mean we can't comment on any of them?

ChameleonCircuit · 16/11/2012 10:05

In order to have a personality disorder, don't you have to have a personality?

"Katie Hopkins Ltd".....she SHOULD be limited. Limited to never leaving the house.

Smile
IceBergJam · 16/11/2012 10:10

'Scathing opinion' based on what she says and does. Bit like politics really. People judge based on what is said.

BartimaeusNeedsMoreSleep · 16/11/2012 10:45

Ok I may have misunderstood what a "social commentator" does but surely her blog is a bit, well, empty?
And random. Not sensing much of a theme, just a load of waffle

axure · 16/11/2012 12:28

She is a regular gob-shite on Good Morning Ulster and the Stephen Nolan show. Just the other day she was giving off about poor employers like her having to pay a minimum wage, when really she should be allowed to pay people 50p an hour if that's all she deemed they were worth because they didn't generate her enough revenue. When asked by a caller how many people she actually employed she completely sidestepped the question and gave no answer, so I think probably very few, maybe less than 10. Probably fewer than my FIL employs in his Chippy, who btw are all paid above minimum wage beceause he's a decent man.

treaclesoda · 16/11/2012 13:39

I heard her on the Stephen Nolan show too last week, that same discussion. Couldn't or wouldn't answer a single question about what she supposedly does. But she brings 'added value' to the businesses she advises. As if that means anything...

BlueberryHill · 16/11/2012 15:35

My opinions of her and based on what she says on Radio Shows, appearances on TV. Factually I am correct, she knows FA about the transport sector, my opinion on the rail franchise is just as (in)valid as hers, I just don't go on national radio and get paid for talking shite. Wish I did, though, it'd be much easier than working.

She puts herself out there with her opinions, mainly scathing, about other women's choices ( most of whom she hasn't met either). She, and women like her damage the reputation of working women and women in general by deliberately spouting rubbish to appeal to misogynistic and stone age employers who resent having to pay maternity pay to women who 'go off to have babies' (lots of virgin births that we don't know about apparently), just so she can feed her desperate fantasies and seemingly insatiable hunger for media attention. I apparently offend her because I work part time in a public sector job because I would like to see my children occasionally? Well she offends me through her 'business' of getting MY licence fee to pay for her ill informed opinions.
