Yes, I say guys. Unisex.

Tell the bloke he's an arse, a rude arse. Then tell him to fuck right off. It's him not you.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 12/11/2012 23:04

Good god, do people really say "dude"?

And (even worse) "dudette"???

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/11/2012 23:04

Mmm. I avoid guys as I think of it being gendered.

Guess it is all up for debate.

Whodyanickabollockoff · 12/11/2012 23:05

I know originally 'GUYS' i always thought was a male word and has become a uni-sex word like 'DUDES' has imo. I wonder what Charlie Brown or Beavis and Butthead would have made of it all.

'Shaggy' from Scooby do used to say it and i think he used to say it to the girls I think they were called 'Thelma and Louise'.

Thanks for all your kind words and support i appreciate it Smile

I consider guys to be better than girls. Someone at work who is my senior in job terms but only about 5yo than me refers to me and my counterpart as "the girls". It gets on my tits. I've a fairly senior job though not as senior as hers. Makes me feel like a 16yo YTS trainee.

VivaLeBeaver · 12/11/2012 23:12

Velma and daphne?

BarbecuedBillygoats · 12/11/2012 23:13

Dudes unisex though slightly cringey

What about the rhyming 'Hi Guys' ? Surely thats has a nice ring to it and is a 'cool' thing to say .It seems to send out a message of youthfulness .I expect you wouldn't say it to a bunch of grannies and grandads nor 'dudes' Grin

Maybe it's a regional thing but round this way a dude is male!

ArbitraryUsername · 12/11/2012 23:26

You should have been pulled up for using the incorrect greeting. The correct form is clearly, 'Yo dudes!'.

Whodyanickabollockoff · 12/11/2012 23:28

vivalebeaver i can totally relate to that being called 'the girls' would drive me round the bend i supposed you could start saying alright 'girl' to her when she talks to you like that or is that a bit nonchalant maybe but is infact mirroring what she is saying. It was bit like me growing up as the youngest son i was always referred to as a 'little brother' by my elder brother and i jsut hated it being called 'little' in the same way you hate being called 'the girls' .It used to bug me
