To have just cried at the John Lewis advert?!

I'm sitting in the car waiting to pick DH up from the station and someone sent it to me.

Now all the other people waiting in cars must think I'm a loon.

I am pregnant though so maybe it's not tear worthy to normal, sane, non hormone addled people.

Sparkling, never mind a celeb, what about a mumsnet charity for 6 million. One of the causes close to all our hearts - and there have, unfortunately, been too many of them this year.

ChaoticismyLife · 10/11/2012 13:30

Bunny just slightly wrt overthinking Grin

Sparkling I liked the ad but didn't cry. I also would have done the ad for half the cost Wink

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2012 13:47

Oh EIiza that would be even better. They could have given 3 or 4 million to charity and still cobbled together a decent ad couldn't they?

Tanith · 10/11/2012 14:00

I love that song. Holly Johnson sings it much better, though.

siblingrivalry · 10/11/2012 14:11

Well, I just cried too- I also cried at the M and S advert though. The little biy with Down's Syndrome just melted my heart.

siblingrivalry · 10/11/2012 14:12

Or boy, even !

EIizaDay · 10/11/2012 14:13

FFS people crying at adverts about snowmen really need to get a life.

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2012 14:14

Anyone would think someone accosted him with a hairdryer and killed him. Grin

socharlotte · 10/11/2012 17:44

This years is rubbish-predictable and boring.
last years was better apart from the house -a pebbledashed urban semi Ugh! not very aspirational!

socharlotte · 11/11/2012 16:07

I like the one best

mmmnoodlesoup · 11/11/2012 16:11

I thought it was beautiful. Made me well up (pg) and even DP let out a little sigh afterwards.

Bunch of old scrooges.

JazzyTheSnowman · 11/11/2012 17:57

I wept. Absolutely bawled!! I was so drippy!

The Polar Express makes me weep too. It's that song, "When Christmas Comes To Town". It's seriously heart-string-tugging!

GobblersSparklyExplodingKnob · 11/11/2012 18:00

Oh, I've seen it now and it is shitty mcshit shit Grin

Though it did make me want to weep, but for very different reasons Wink

Still when I was pregnant I wanted to shag Simon Cowell, hormones do funny things to a lady Grin

Sparklingbrook · 11/11/2012 18:04

Well you weepy people had better get a grip because it's on in every bloody ad break at the moment. I am hoping there is a shortened version. Angry

ConcreteElephant · 11/11/2012 18:10

I'm a little bemused by the fact it cost £6 million when the Waitrose ad is all about the company deliberately not having a fancy advert in order to be able to give more money to good causes...looks like the John Lewis side of the partnership didn't get that memo. :)

WeAreNewHere · 11/11/2012 18:59

My DH had tears in his eyes! Soft arse.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 11/11/2012 19:00

I love it!

tak1ngchances · 11/11/2012 19:01

I would say they are spending 6million on media but ad production cost less than 5% of that

PenguinBear · 11/11/2012 19:01

YANBU, I did too!!

YummyDollie · 13/11/2012 10:09

YANBU I cried but also blamed the pregnancy hormones! I sob at anything at the moment Grin

GailTheGoldfish · 13/11/2012 10:12

I don't like it, the music doesn't fit the pictures.

Mousefunk · 13/11/2012 10:56

Don't like it, especially since I found out it cost 6 mil. I figured they'd done snowmen because it

Mousefunk · 13/11/2012 10:57
  • saved money...

I did get a tear in my eye of sheer pride when seeing the child with Downs on m&s advert. Anyone would think I was his mum.

SparkleSoiree · 13/11/2012 10:59

YANBU

I had a wee tear, love is love after all!

ShiftyFades · 13/11/2012 11:03

I have cried twice at it (have only seen it twice Blush)
I'm not pregnant Confused
