to go home and go to bed when there's a cleaner in my house?

That's it really.
I'm absolutely exhausted, I can quite often finish work early on a Friday, but that's the day the cleaner comes.

Last week I was on annual leave so I went to Tesco when she arrived, but when I went home she was still there so I drove straight past and went and sat in a pub car park so I didn't make her feel awkward. I can't do that every week!

I sort of think well it's my home so I shouldn't avoid going there really. And, you know, I'm knackered.

I've done it. When I was pregnant I felt constantly exhausted towards the end so often crawled back into bed. A few times she knocked on my door and brought me a cup of tea in bed before she left Blush

I don't see a problem as she's just doing a job. And she probably goes home to relax when she's got some time off.

I'm just playing with my two DDs when ours comes and she's always very pleasant and gets on with it.

what would be a better time? you sleep, hopefully you slept, cleaner cleans uninterrupted. peace reigns, house is tidy, you are refreshed, cleaner is paid. happiness all round.

I am a cleaner and it wouldn't bother me a bit. Just so long as you don't get in my way!

One person I clean for works regular nights and is often in bed for the time I am there. It is fine, you are paying her to do a job.

I do it but only cos I've known the cleaner for yonks. I used to tidy before she came and I would never have asked her to do the washing up (I'm with your cleaner on that vivien). Now I'm a single mum with a two-year old the house is like a slum before she sets it to rights. I've totally lost all pride/shame. I sit around, eat my dinner in front of her, go to bed, whatever. She doesn't seem to mind!

Due to individual circumstances, I have had 2 cleaners over the last few years. Before employing them, I didn't know them at all, but feel having a stranger clean my toilet, or noticing where I've been lax during the week is such a personal, intimate thing, that they would never have got through the interview brief, friendly chat without me feeling totally comfortable having them around the house and my children, and so I would definitely snooze with either of them around. Obviously, I'd leave a note to say I was in the bed asleep - think it might be quite a shock to find a body snoring away in bed when they open the bedroom door!

Funnily enough, they have both become valued friends over the years. Maybe I've been incredibly lucky to find 2 such lovely ladies, but I really feel you should be very very comfortable with your cleaning lady Smile

Oops first attempt at strike through - I mean brief friendly chat

It wouldn't bother me and I'm a cleaner - thats what I do sometimes when I go home from work Grin Oh and cleaners don't do washing up generally, well I never have both in personal homes and in larger blocks of accomodation.
