How did you find being pregnant? Was your work, studying, driving or general cognitive functioning impaired? I'm sure mine was as wondering whether it's a good idea to do a tough uni course with an exam while pregnant (heavily). Aibu?

Yeah it didn't last long for me either, my mother got the main brunt of it! She isn't bothered whether you're listening or not anyway so it didn't really matter :)

I am sure the hormones affect my vocabulary, I lose words in a more definitive way than when it's just tiredness.

Prior to baby was doing surgery till 36 so was fine. First three weeks were haze that was severe anaemia that hospital didn't bother to tell anyone about and lack of sleep. Back doing surgery after 12 weeks.
I think lack of sleep is far more significant.

I had pg insomnia and that made hormones worse. Didn't feel too scatty though...just edgy. I think the main thing post birth is doing so much more when baby is here - keeping everything clean, new person to feed, so much info to read up on, worrying about a lot of various baby things, remembering to cut nails, etc. It's a very current immediate way to live, versus the job or studying which you can generally do with a bit more time and without a screaming person next to you needing attention Mum's worry a lot more generally , I find, and that isn't something you do so much when you are independent. I think that if they could study all of the different things you do when you have a baby compared to your usual job pre baby they would see you use different parts of your brain perhaps or they are simply more varied and ad hoc?
