To think that £150 is a lot for gas/electric pm?

How much are you paying each month for gas and electric? Our bill for a 3 bed detached is (on average) £150 this seems like a lot to me. I've started turning the temp down to 19?C. We have insulation/double glazing/new boiler. I realise prices have gone up but it just seems extortionate! I don't even use the tumble drier anymore. I do the moneysupermarket thing every year or so too. Aibu to be pee'd off at spending so much?

We have 3 bed terrace. Has boiler and job and electric cooker. Was 2 loads a day and tumble dryer used all the time. We pay £135 a month for gas and electric with eon, cheapest via comparison site.

We pay £100 a month for a 3 year old 3 bed semi detached and I'm a cm so heating on a lot, loads of washing and I use the drier every time.

Our water is really expensive I pay £55 a month, my neighbour who is a sahm only pays £15 a month!

We pay about half that for 3 bed house - don't have the heating on much though and have a new boiler which probably makes a difference. If we have the heating on then it's on at about 18/19 but I use the drier very time I wash. Gas CH and electric cooker.

2 bed terrace house -£145/month for oil and electric - is that a lot, and is it comparable to gas & electric

mummmsy · 08/11/2012 08:33

oh,me and a 7 year old, I work from home

£104 per month for a large 2 bedroom flat, I feel it's the gas rather than electric that costs more but if you have a baby you can't not put the heating on in this weather can you!

poorbuthappy · 08/11/2012 08:38

£130 per month. I will not be cold.
Tumble dryer, dishwasher. 5 of us in the house.i would cancel everything else before sacrificing the heating!!!

We pay £140 a month in a 3 bed detached. We are both out the house 4 days a week so I think the main culprit is the tumble dryer. We recently got sent one of those energy monitors and as well as the tumble dryer the electric fire in the living room uses quite a lot. My dh sits in the living room with just a t shirt and the fire on! Drives me mad. If it was our house I would seriously consider a wood burning stove.
