Half ten, on a school night and it sounds like Beirut outside. It was fine earlier but I'm fed up now. Dd scared, dogs hiding and howling a d cats terrified. What time are they thinking of stopping I wonder?

Have just posted the exact same thread.

Its been quiet here since about 8.15pm and then started again at 10.30pm, it didn't bother me at the weekend but I'm feeling seriously irritated about it tonight

McHappyPants2012 · 05/11/2012 22:46

I bet past midnight, the 13th November may also be popular for fireworks

Wandaaa · 05/11/2012 22:47

8 Year old DD said this to me at 8.30pm

Dramajustfollowsme · 05/11/2012 22:51

I don't mind so much at the weekend either but I have to get dd up at 6:30 for nursery. That is not going to be much fun. Surely up until even 9pm give people enough time. Sad

Ours completely stopped about an hour ago. (Plymouth)
Yanbu at all

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 05/11/2012 22:53

Why Nov 13?

McHappyPants2012 · 05/11/2012 22:56

Diwali

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 05/11/2012 22:57

They are allowed to be set off until midnight on 5th November, any other time a special licence is needed.

Dramajustfollowsme · 05/11/2012 22:57

I figured out which garden it was coming from. It is anti-social behaviour imo. I'm considering phoning the police. It is beyond a joke. They must have spent a fortune too.

Really boiledegg? I didn't know that. Just another hour to go then, (sighs whilst consoling small child again)

The Police won't do anything...it's November 5th.

Well they might ask them how long they intend to go on for but that's about it.

OddBoots · 05/11/2012 22:59

Most nights they aren't permitted after 11pm but tonight is midnight I'm afraid.

OddBoots · 05/11/2012 23:00

Sorry, crossed posts.

RubyFakeNails · 05/11/2012 23:01

Its bonfire night what did you expect.

Mousefunk · 05/11/2012 23:11

Problem is I don't care about fireworks being set off on bonfire night but its the fact they do it all weekend and then on the actual night too that really irritates me. We've had it here from the time the sun is literally just just going down until about midnight since Friday, no lie and they're still at it. Don't they get bored?! I'm not a firework fan anyway, I think once you've seen one you've seen them all and i'm one of the boring sensible people who believe fireworks should be banned and only public licensed displays allowed, and only on the actual night itself/new year. Would save a lot of injuries as well.

NellyJob · 05/11/2012 23:15

i think you are being unreasonable but then I am sitting in a very quiet spot in Wales....when I lived on an estate in Brighton it went on for days and days....

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 06/11/2012 01:48

Oh of course, Diwali. Silly me. Late this year. Usually celebrate it in work but my calendar has been thrown now I'm not at work.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/11/2012 06:55

Yabu. It's bonfire night! It's one night of the year. Get over it!

Fakebook · 06/11/2012 08:14

Bah, lighten up. Bonfire night has been happening long before dogs and cats became domesticated pets. They've survived all these years, as have humans.

Dramajustfollowsme · 06/11/2012 08:21

Well they finally stopped at 2am. 10 hours of banging. And it will no doubt still happen tonight. It has been going on every night since about the middle of October. Sad
