OK I am going to go out on a limb here...
Of course the poor child can walk. Clearly she is uncomfortable having a posse of photographers shouting at her and jabbing huge lenses in her face day in, day out. As any normal person would be. And her mother - and father - pick her up to shield her to a degree.
But here's the thing. It is not neccessary. She does not need to be exposed to the paparazzi like this. There are dozens of high profile celebrities who are not photographed on a daily basis.
I truly believe that Katie Holmes is desperately fame-hungry. At the height of the divorce business, she chose to leave her apartment through the front door (never the garage like anyone else, even when travelling by car), on foot, and most times with her very young daughter.
This is the behaviour of someone who wants her picture taken, who is hungry to remain in the news.
Her profile has never been so high.
Her ex, by contrast, is rarely photographed with Suri, or even going about his daily life any more.
Contrary to popular belief, the famous do have choices about the level of intrusion to their lives. Look at Joel & Carly Cole, they just had their 2nd child without any press knowing. Look at huge stars like Julia Roberts and John Travolta, when do you ever see them walking down the street with their kids? Hardly ever. Because they have chosen privacy for their children.
So I reckon Suri Cruise has drawn a very short straw and frankly I would not wish her life upon anyone. Would you want your child scrutinised like that?
