Have had a rare child-free Saturday to catch up on marking and have trawled through my old dvd/vhs collection to find something to keep me company.

Oh- he is cute and his films are good, no? Don't know, makes me think I had rather good taste as a student Grin.

Squoosh My Granny alwyas used to say that if you have nothing nice to say, please don't say anything! Grin

If he's difficult it is because he's getting a bit tetchy waiting for me!

PseudoBadger · 03/11/2012 21:59

That's why one has an assistant though surely :o

BonVoyageCharlieBrown · 03/11/2012 22:00

Honeydragon

This former boyfriend of yours.... is he still single? Wink

squoosh · 03/11/2012 22:02

You're right there Pseudo if my assistant doesn't pick up my stained bloomers quick enough I say to her 'Shape up lady or I'm sending you to work for John Cusack'.

From that era I quite fancied James Spader although he always played total tossers! Love him in Pretty in Pink.

squoosh · 03/11/2012 22:04

yousankmybattleship I'm sure you'll knock him into shape. Make sure you give him a slap for making that Serendipity tosh with Kate Beckinsale. Not sure if I'd have been a bit less offended if it had starred a different actress. She irritates me this much!

MrsWembley · 03/11/2012 22:12

Mine mine mine mine mine...

Grosse Pointe Blank, one of the best films ever (TM); Con Air, typical Hollywood action movie made to look intelligent through his being involved; the numerous 80s teen flicks crediting him, the joy of my and many others' teenage years.

And he helped my DP realise that we were supposed to be together... Grosse Pointe Blank was the only film we doubled up on. And he loves Joan, so if we ever met the Cusack family we'd be fine.

HoneyDragon · 03/11/2012 22:57

I believe he's now married and in a band, sorry Grin

squoosh · 03/11/2012 23:05

Google says he's not married.

cos he's too grumpy

I put up with CZJ in America's Sweethearts just because he was in it - and Hank Azaria who I also have a soft spot.

And I LIKED Serendipity. The way he looks at her at the very end

I used to follow him on twitter but he was a bit boring, so I stopped following.

I prefer my imagination I think

Spermysextowel · 04/11/2012 01:39

He comes a close second to Matthew Broderick. Forced the children to watch Ferris Bueller & they loved it. Now, where did I put that old video if The Outsiders....

squoosh · 04/11/2012 01:46

Oh my Lord, you fancy Matthew Broderick! Present day Matthew Broderick?

I feel like the angel of doom on this thread but . . . . . .

Wheresmypopcorn · 04/11/2012 01:51

Say Anything! Lloyd Dobbler was the best...

Wheresmypopcorn · 04/11/2012 01:52

James Spader was hot in his eighties heyday, used to fancy him

Spermysextowel · 04/11/2012 06:13

It's hard; I have forgiven him for being 50, but then I've previously forgiven him for marrying The Horse.

germyrabbit · 04/11/2012 11:39

who is the horse? Shock

BonVoyageCharlieBrown · 04/11/2012 13:02

I think spermy means Sarah Jessica Parker! (married to Matthew Broderick)

Honeydragon- what a shame! Grin

Next weekend I'm going to have a John Cusack Marathon inspired by this. Bottle of wine, chocolate cake and lots of John Cusack! Mmmmm Smile

BigBoobiedBertha · 04/11/2012 13:12

Oh can I join the fan club? I think he is great too although he isn't aging as well as some. We are a similar age though so I can't be too critical - I am sure I could get over it.Grin

I like Gross Point Blank too although my personal favourite is Pushing Tin. I have no idea why except maybe it has Billy Bob Thornton in it and the bloke from Medium even though he sports a rather dubious mooostache.

I had a thing for Andrew McCarthy too, back in the day. He always played the sort of character you wanted to take care of and he looked like he was probably a really good kisser.

bonzo77 · 04/11/2012 13:30

Actually, I think you'll find I love him more than you all put together. Shitty kecks not withstanding.

culturemulcher · 04/11/2012 15:35

Dear god, he's 50? Confused

MrsWembley · 04/11/2012 18:39

Born in '66.

Not 50 yet.Grin
