But how would you know which was which? What if you thought you were getting something nice with nuts in and it turned out to be Turkish Delight?

Have you really thought this through?

Viperidae · 02/11/2012 20:02

Nooooooo! They are made tastier by the luxury of being in a box and taste even better in one of those big, single layer 50s style ones.

TeentheBean · 02/11/2012 20:03

Element of surprise? Who cares, its chocolate FFS! Grin

Badgersnatch · 02/11/2012 20:08

Element of surprise? If I want excitement I'll go to Alton Towers! Wink

MorrisZapp · 02/11/2012 20:10

Yabu

It just wouldn't work.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 02/11/2012 20:10

YANBU. Best thing thorntons ever did, box chocs in bags.

youmeatsix · 02/11/2012 20:10

but nutty ones would brush against the lush orange cream ones and taint them Shock

TrinityRhino · 02/11/2012 20:12

I think its a fab idea

thorn tons bags of chocs are great

yourheadonastick · 02/11/2012 20:13

Bleurgh to Dairy Box and the Milk Tray. You can buy them how you like - I won't be hving any!!

Have you considered contacting Cadburys/Rowntrees/Nestle to request this?

At the very least they may send you some freebies for showing an interest Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/11/2012 20:13

They do them in the Cadbury outlets as 'misshapes' I got a bag and then was thoroughly upset that they were about 70% Turkish delight... I've had more mixed bags though and once got one that was mainly the purple ones. Grin

MorrisZapp · 02/11/2012 20:14

My idea is to put slightly thicker chocolate on Maltesers, and market them to nibblers.

SoleSource · 02/11/2012 20:14

I don't like tnem much either but is a good idea for small quantites.

Cadbury shop at the lowry do them in the miss shapes bags, they are a bit battered but yummy.

TessCowDirect · 02/11/2012 20:16

Didn't they use to make a chocolate bar which was about 6 or 8 milk tray chocolates stuck together?

Or did I dream that?

TeentheBean · 02/11/2012 20:21

Oh yes, Tess, Frys used to do it, I've just asked my bff Google and it was Frys Five Centres

CakeExpectations · 02/11/2012 20:22

I bought some today from a Cadbury outlet shop.

£2.99 for a big bagful. I think that if they're not in a box then the calories don't count, if I'm not mistaken.

redmayneslips · 02/11/2012 20:24

Does anyone remember a a bar of choc called 'Two and Two' or something like that? Each square had 2 fillings -like choc and orange fondant or coffee and cream etc God, I LOVED them! Wish I could have one now!

I wouldn't mind the element of surprise in a bag of chocs - I like revels!

SoleSource · 02/11/2012 20:25

Where was the shop? CakeExpectations

OP posts:
TessCowDirect · 02/11/2012 20:28

this was the one

Look at the price!

ariadneoliver · 02/11/2012 20:29

Tess they were first made in 1947 but discontinued in 1981

TeentheBean · 02/11/2012 20:31

I stand corrected Tess, google misled me!! There was also a Milk Tray bar as you described.

TeentheBean · 02/11/2012 20:33

4p, 4p? What could you get for 4p now? A crisp? A coco pop?

TessCowDirect · 02/11/2012 20:33

Thanks Smile

I didn't realise the fudge bar was so old either.

roundtoit · 02/11/2012 20:37

i dont know if its just me but cadburys chocolate does not taste half as good as it used to.
