To think that I nursery should not really offer Coco Pops for breakfast.

That's it really. At first nursery they had to offer healthy and sugar free cereals. New nursery and they have coco pops I just found out today. I am a bit surprised as I thought it had to be all healthy eating etc. Does anyone know? The kids love their new nursery - no wonder! They are 3 if that is relevant....

The 30g serving size is for an adult, and the nutritional advice on the packet is usually per 100g and per 30g serving.

I have yet to see a cereal box give the nutritional content for a 10g toddler sized serving.

And as for eggs taking longer than cereal - you boil the kettle for a cuppa first thing, yes? Use the hot water from the kettle, put in pan, shove eggs in and boil while toast is being done.

Drink cuppa, then butter toast and serve eggs.

Job done. With minimal effort. I even have the pan ready on the stove the night before!

Oh, so now I don't have a child? Confused

I think Coco pops is the wrong choice for a nursery - it's just encouraging them to eat chocolate for breakfast (I know it's cocoa etc but still.)
I've got issues with the salt and sugar levels in my blood and remember coco pops being a particulaty crappy breakfast for me to level them Pprridge is still the best.

YANBU - I do not want my DD eating coco pops every day, same as I dont let her eat crisps every day.....

DD has Coco Shreddies for breakfast as a compromise otherwise she would eat coco pops all the time. 11.6g sugar per 100g compared to 35g per 100g.

BUT as a matter of interest, when I was seeing a nutritionist, she said to me, if you are hungry have a bowl of cereal. i laughed and said you mean something healthy, not coco pops, and she said, it doesnt matter which cereal, they are all pretty much the same.........

she said that cereal as a snack would be much healthier than a bag of crisps as they are just salt and fat..
