To think this (lovely) woman must be stark raving bonkers?

She's mum of one of DS1's friends and she volunteered to take her 3 boys (one on whom has special needs which mean he doesn't go to mainstream school), plus my DS1 and another friend to a local theme park today. They went on public transport and were out from 10am til 8pm.....and I've just discovered she's 4 mths pregnant with number 4! Her DH did go too, but she will have been very much in charge.

DS1 was so pleased to be asked and it meant DS2 and I had a lovely day all to ourselves, but really, why would you put yourself through that at any time, let alone pregnant? Sounds like pure hell to me, but she says she had a lovely day.

I owe her big time don't I?

See maybe it's me but I don't get how she's a supermum for taking her kids on a day out with her DH?

Or is it because she happens to be in the early stages of pregnancy?

Either way, it sounds like a nice and normal outing to me.

hmm, after hearing the ages, i'm with worra. and both parents went aswell which makes it so much easier even if they were smaller kids.

i regularly take my ds1's (7) two school friends out for the day along with my 3 year old, (we did today actually, but only with 1 friend)

It wasn't the number of kids particularly, it was that it was a theme park and the number of hours on her feet. I know I couldn't have done it at any stage of pregnancy and I wouldn't be keen now, but I would happily take them all to the park or the beach.

She sounds great, I wouldn't do that in a million years and I love theme parks but only have two children and that's quite enough!

I noticed your twinkle durab and in this context yes I think she's wonderfully bonkers Wink

Maybe she's an ex-primary teacher? You become over the years immune to walking around with hoardes of children and a few parent volunteers who will only deal with their own child, leave early without warning or keep wandering off to smoke Less than 10 and the fact they get on with each other is a bonus! My work record for public transport is a crocodile of 120 kids following me. I'm very very laid back at home with how many children are around.
