He is getting through close to two jars a week! I buy the no sugar added stuff but two jars for one person seems excessive to me: unhealthy and expensive. Or am I being controlling?

YAbu my DH probably does that amount in as it's a high protein food and he's building up the guns ATM.

However make sure you buy him a decent one, Tescos do a good own brand whole nut one.

rhondajean · 27/10/2012 19:52

Oh sorry just realised he's always complaining about his weight - in that case YANBU but perhaps get him a gym membership for Xmas, by next year he too could be ripped and indulging in his favourite snack without guilt Grin

Dozer · 27/10/2012 19:53

If he is overweight, obviously it's not ideal.

I do stuff like this Sad.

If his willpower/portion control/eating habits are problematic, perhaps it'd be kinder to just not buy it?

YABU he is an adult. It's up to him what he eats. I can't quite believe you would 'ration' something for a grown up. I think that sounds incredibly controlling and patronising.

Rowgtfc72 · 27/10/2012 20:05

I wish someone would ration mine, I can do a jar in a fortnight but only like the cheap and nasty tesco crunchy which is only 64p and cheaper than a night in the pub. Agree with Dozer, only way to stop eating it too much is to "accidently " forget to buy it .

YABU to post this thread as I have just been forced to get out of the bath, go downstairs and make myself some PB on toast and return to the bath! Grin

Is your DH my DP? I only buy the no added sugar stuff (3.50 a jar Shock) and DP smothers about 1/3 of a jar on his bread. I bought it for DS's sandwiches but DP eats it all. I might tell him he has to replace it.
