Well, it's not for everyone that's true. I find it a cheap great way to stay in touch with distant family.

However, I cringe when I see the airing of dirty laundry!

I watched a couple ACTUALLY BREAK UP on her status! [hshock] they have a son :(

I'll admit that I watched avidly, which I'm sure says a lot more about me than it does them!

MaureenCognito · 25/10/2012 11:13

i think a wall features in it LeQ

this is how I understand it.

You have a wall people write on but can have an affair by facebook messages.
and you can TAG photos ( not sure what this means) and all photos have to be you fellating a bacardi breezer bottle and shot in an overexposed lens.

there is lots of cutesiness and clicking to defeat cancer ( not sure how that works)

there are also GROUPS to protest ( generally about the actions of light entertainment show presenters and some NEET from essex who abuses celebrities)

is that right?

Oh and people "keep in touch" on facebook. Not sure how that works

i dont see why facebook is a better way of keeping in touch than an email.

its VERY image based, thats is what I dont like (or didnt like)
not really much wit to it,

It's fab for staying in touch with family. If it upsets you so much don't bloody use it.

OP posts:

oh i dont mind people USING it or it even existing #magnanimous

just when it becomes a thread about what Brandon said about Chloe and that shite that its stoopid

We keep in touch via FB rather than email as its a very informal way of doing things, odd comments here and there, more of a "conversation" with everyone chipping in back and forward, in a way you can't with email.
It works for us :)

Well DH's family live in the UK and we live in Ireland.

So grandma skypes the kids once a week but if they have a football match, dance recital or whatever I can tag her in the photos.

My photos are set to private so I choose exactly who sees them. It's handier than emailing since she loves Facebook and rarely, if ever, checks emails.

MaureenCognito · 25/10/2012 11:19

cant you just email her photos? trying to understand

OP posts:
qo · 25/10/2012 11:20

And just as it's more than acceptable for some people to like facebook, it's also acceptable for other people to dislike it - That isn't so difficult to grasp is it?

Not everybody likes strictly/mexican food/soaps whatever - but that doesn't seem to bring out the same levels of defensiveness that facebook seems to, it's all so weird!

ClippedPhoenix · 25/10/2012 11:22

There's another one going on about kids language and wanting to report to their school, For god sake! Don't bloody read it!

waltermittymissus · 25/10/2012 11:22

Yes I suppose so but I just find it handier! Then they're all there in a little album on her page and she can browse at will!

No attachments, cover emails, just tag and go!

Yes I can email photos, but it's nice to be able to have a bit of a laugh with more than one person chipping in, like I say, a kind of conversation evolves, we all interact with each other in a way you can't via email.

qo · 25/10/2012 11:26

But if they did usual, there wouldn't be this level of opposition - that's what I'm trying to get my head around.

It seems it ISN'T ok to dislike facebook, or rather if you do you better make sure you keep your trap shut about it!

LineRunner · 25/10/2012 11:28

I hate FB. Is that unreasonable?

waltermittymissus · 25/10/2012 11:39

But qo nobody is saying that! What level of opposition? [hconfused]

I actually hate a rather large list of things. And I did start a thead once about my DD's mobile phone, which is definitely on that list. Grin
