Feeling so miserable about it that I have had to retire from the ironing and hide away upstairs. Am I really hormonal or would you be upset too?
I hate knowing the ending of books and have been looking forward to reading this for years, we are doing it in my book group and was enthusing about it to him when he said 'By the way, you know that at the end she......'.

Reminds me of that bit in When Harry Met Sally, when Harry says, ?When I buy a new book, I always read the last page first, that way in case I die before I finish, I know how it ends. That, my friend, is a dark side.?

Wasn't it W.C. Fields who once remarked during the interval of a performance of Hamlet, "I guess I'm the only sonofabitch here who doesn't know how this thing comes out".

Slightly off-topic, but it remind me of going to see Baz Luhrman's "Romeo + Juliet" in the cinema (Streatham Odeon to be precise).

Anyway, in this version Romeo is just a very, very few seconds late to rescue Juliet, so tension is genuinely high. As Juliet drinks the poison Girl in front of me whispers to her Mate in all seriousness "No! Don't tell me he doesn't make it in time!"

That, my friend, is why even the classics should come with a spoiler alert [hsmile]

She wakes up too slowly, by which point he has drunk the poison assuming she is dead.

I hate the end of AK. Just like bloody Carmen. Any woman acting outside what society expects will come to an, erm, end... Grrrrrrr!
