To boast about another mums comments at the school gates

it was dd1 Halloween disco at school last night. She is 4 yo and in reception. Dh has just collected her from school and one of the other mums stopped him and said. " oh so you are xx Dad, can I just tell you that I helped out last night and your daughters manners are impeccable". I am so proud that I felt the need to share

Oh put a sick in it pud1!!!! Ha ha just jealous, how nice of the mom.

That's lovely. I always feel so proud when my boys are complimented on their manners.

I have a Y5 report that says DD2 is impeccably behaved.

It is lovely to hear that they have been good and nice of the other Mum to say so.

I hope OP that your DD is lovely at home too.

At the time of the nice report DD2 was being a preteen horror at hime

She is not exactly lovely at home. She is very focused on being good at school, she got star of the week and a prize for receiving the most nice tokens from the other children. At parents evening her teacher said she is very well behaved and can always be relied upon to be doing the right thing. All the discipline seems to be having the reverse effect at home. Her behaviour has got worse since starting school

That's a lovely compliment! And my DD is the same BTW - total angel at school, not so much at home - it's more common than you'd think, and I am relieved that at least she's not in trouble at school.

DS got a compliment today - his nursery teacher said he did brilliant dancing :o

That's lovely. I know how proud I was when people commented on my children's manners. Now I make a point of doing the same thing if children are very well mannered. I had to laugh once though, I was in a public loo and a young (10ish) girl insisted on letting myself and my vocally desperate niece go first. She left just before us and waited to hold both doors. I saw who her mum was, told her how polite her daughter was, and the first thing she asked was if I was being sarky, lol.

Well mannered children are one of the few things that restore my faith in humanity. They are also depressingly rare.
