To be wary of private firework displays?

I'm actually quite surprised about my reaction to private firework displays as I'm quite a relaxed (slack!) parent about most things and tend not to worry too much about H and S issues.

BUT the thought of untrained individuals letting off explosives in their back garden fills me with dread. Why when there are so many organised displays?

Would you be happy about your child going to a back garden firework party?

we live on a housing estate.

the twats who live side on to us seem to be unable to comprehend that the bottom of their small garden is 4 feet from our side door. So, when you get fireworks that should only be let off from 50 feet away, this should apply from all directions

That's interesting Brueni, the neighbours were very open about having bought them over the border. Presumably they were not actually legally purchased in NI then either (assuming they were being honest about having bought them up north anyway.)
