I'm so glad that supermarkets in the UK are doing this now and it has already made a difference, litter wise.

I carry a few of these www.envirotrend.com.au/shop/cart.php?target=category&category_id=29&pageID= around with me. Much better than plastic.

halcyondays · 18/10/2012 14:45

Yabu. I reuse all mine as bin bags, so if they started charging, I'd just end up buying bin bags instead.

MousyMouse · 18/10/2012 14:46

yanbu at all.
I hate seeing the plastic bags hanging in trees. and there are rubbish as rubbish bags as well.
I have a small foldable bag in my handbag for the small spontaneous shop and crates in the car for the big weekly shop.

bureni · 18/10/2012 14:46

I think the bags should be banned altogether, are people so lazy that they cannot bring their own reusable bags with them.

GreenShadow · 18/10/2012 14:49

But Phoenix, you don't have to pay 5p to advertise the shop - you can always take your oen bags/crates.

I think we should do as they do in France and just not give any bags out free.
