AIBU, to speak to the school regarding inappropriate use of parents email addresses? A few days ago two Mothers had a argument over a school jumper, they had an angry exchange which was broadcasted to every parent on the school email list. I am firstly horrified that they would do this and secondly I don't want my email used for this type of pathetic behavior. I also have constant drivel about cake sales, Christmas Fairs etc, I gave my address to be used for play dates and birthdays not inane chat. WWYD?

What were they saying in the email spat, OP?

Jusfloatingby · 17/10/2012 14:05

It was nice of the school to apologise, but it is the two stupid mothers who should be mortified and offering profuse apologies for bombarding a load of random parents with emails regarding a private row. God help their children!

sadie3 I am having a really shitty day, i need cheering up, now whilst this seems to have infuriated you, I only have one school age DD and ive kind of embraced the whole pta thing, i do understand while you feel a bit jaded by the whole thing, im also bored enough to have been hopping up and down with delight at the whole private argument aired by email. Do you think, and you would be doing me a great act of kindness here! That you could give us an overview (whilst taking out identifying details of course) of those emails - just to cheer me up, like :)

Come on OP let us know how two grown women fight over a school jumper via email! (Hate playdate also)

ShutTheFrontDoor · 17/10/2012 14:19

^^ what Zombie said, except I'm not having a shitty day, I'm just nosey.

We had a "jumpergate" at DD's school and it is still referred to as such, i can't really say what happened as it is very "outing" and mortifying for those involved. Needless to say i rather enjoyed it at the time because i need to get a life

Rowanhart · 17/10/2012 14:24

Details, yes? Smile

At least their dingdong was confined to cyber space. Round our way the lane up to school is where school mums sort out their differences.

oh yes do tell!!

Woozley · 17/10/2012 15:15

I am class rep and I think most parents appreciate email reminders about stuff we have to bring in - there is so much sometimes! Well, the feedback I get would suggest that's the case anyway. It also helps me be organised myself. I try not to bombard people though. A couple of times a month usually. But yes, it could be easy to misuse the list.
