Ooh I LOVE eating out of a bowl shepherds pie, sausage & mash, spag bol, you name it!! so much simpler than things falling off my plate :) I shall add that I eat all of the above with a spoon... Ooh and I allways eat my cereal out of a pint glass lol.

Loveweekends10 · 17/10/2012 03:32

Tell waggomamma that. We went there yesterday and everything was served in a bowl.
Most of countries in south east Asia eat using bowls.
YABU.

Softlysoftly · 17/10/2012 04:05

YANBU same goes for food separation.

Today had pie (in a pie dish), chips (in a bucket), gravy (in an odd kind of mini watering can thingy) and parsnips (odd choice in a mini dish).

I'm not paying so I can dish up myself [amgry].

Softlysoftly · 17/10/2012 04:06

Amgry?

Spatsky · 17/10/2012 07:19

You eat all the potato middle and filling with fork then pick up lovely crispy skin with fingers, old it a little and eat it like giant potato wedge then lick fingers in satisfaction.

It's not pretty or classy but its god.

Spatsky · 17/10/2012 07:19

Er good

Spatsky · 17/10/2012 07:20

Fold it a little FFS fecking iPad.

quirrelquarrel · 17/10/2012 07:33

Oh and FryOne, I had a burger meal served on a chopping board the other day and all the ruddy chips kept falling off the ends

Grin

I want porridge on a plate. Then it'd be just the right temp and thickness for spoonfuls....we need a slightly round-edged Porridge Plate. I patent.

flyoverthegoldenhill · 17/10/2012 07:42

Chaos you are right - as always.
END OF.

whats4teamum · 17/10/2012 07:42

Once had lunch with DH where he chose a starter of snails which came served on a slate. Kept expecting them to leap up and slither off.

crashdoll · 17/10/2012 07:59

YABvU as bowls prevent mess/spilage and fingers are for when cultery doesn't do the job properly.

crashdoll · 17/10/2012 07:59

I think I spelt spilage/spillage wrong but I'm not sure so I'm posting about it.

Bumpinthenight · 17/10/2012 08:56

Spillage Wink

valiumredhead · 17/10/2012 08:57

We always use big flattish bowls - much nicer than plates imo.

SoleSource · 17/10/2012 10:03

WTF is a jacket potato?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/10/2012 10:07

Oi, crashdoll and Loveweekends10.

You know, a baked potato in its skin.

I don't like bowls except to soup, salad and cereal.

Chaos is right.

::gavel::

aldiwhore · 17/10/2012 10:10

YANBU.

Can I throw in small plates too? Where everything is piled mountain like and there's no room for manoeuver? Why not an actual PLATE SIZED plate, why?!

HoneyDragon · 17/10/2012 10:15

Surely the fact that jacket potatoes can be eaten in a polystyrene tray with a plastic fork whilst walking means they are universal?
They can be eaten out of foil from the fire first too.

Chaos, this is stealth boast isn't it? To show you are too good for those of us that don't have a handy knife or table?

you big ponce

I

aldiwhore · 17/10/2012 10:17

You can't eat the skin in a polystyrene tray with a plastic fork WHILST walking though, and the skin is the best bit. (I hate walking and eating, it's not snobbery, I just can't do it, I tend to fall over... never been a multi tasker).
