There is a woman at work who really annoys me. She is always saying something or other which is so far from reality I don't know how anyone can believe it.

Her latest one is that she swims for 30mins a day and managed to loose half a stone while swimming one day as she is such a great swimmer and goes so fastHmm. I mean come ON, does she really expect people to believe that?! That's just the latest example in a long list, nothing I can do except walk away.

One of my male friends (D) who I had always thought of as very intelligent, level headed, confident and sane, lied to his friend that his (D's) dad had died Confused
So when friend saw D's dad in the Co Op, it caused no end of bad feeling. Why the fuck?! It made me think very carefully about all the other things he'd told me about his life over the years.

I had an ex friend who was a liar. She said that she was so clever at school that the head asked her to teach the A level maths class. She said she was the star on a kids tv programme and that she had represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest.

When she moved with her DH's job, she signed up for a computer course but said she had to pack it in because she was being taken advantage of - the teacher kept going off for coffee breaks and leaving her to teach the class (the reason she signed up for the course was because she didn't know how to turn a pc on).

She claimed to have breast cancer which she was cured of by a visit to her gynaecologist as she was on her way to a wedding.

I could go on. We aren't friends now- no point.

I had a friend who.was like this. Multiple pregnancies and abortions within a year when 16. At 16 she said she had a 6 year old child who was adopted but she saw at birthdays and Easter. at 18 she said she had a twin who lived in canada and the only difference was a birth mark
The twin had secretly come over and slept with her boyfriend.
Was a year younger than me and in the January of my final year at uni swore blind that she had just qualified as a lawyer even though she had not been to uni - she was a Secretary. These are just a few - it was relentless - but at the same time she was a nice person.

People who knew her from primary school said she was like this from the start.
