There are new stories about Savile's activities every day, and all are accompanied by his ugly gurning face.

How many more photos can they dig up?

I know it sounds utterly unhinged but I don't want to look at it.

The 'hiding in plain sight' is so scary. There was a clip on HIGNFY last week - of when he was on the show some years ago. There is a fake transcript but they showed what was actually said. He was asked about the caravan he used to live in 'what did you do in the caravan' - the response 'anyone I could get my hands on' Ugh! THere should be an inquiry in to how on earth he wasn't stopped.

YANBU. But then I've always felt that way about him. Could never watch him on TV.

I never thought he was creepy as a kid - used to love Jim'll Fix it. So did loads of kids didn't they. Looking back what a bloody bizarre programme - like you say him sat on a throne with a cigar. All that wickedness hidden by a respectable veneer of eccentricity.

I thought he was benign really until that louis theroux thing.

Here's why.

People tend not to buy newspapers that are big blocks of print. That's why they put pictures in. We on newspapers know that half the time you don't even look at the pictures, but you like having them there to make the pages look less intimidating. But we also know you won't pick the paper up without pictures. Savile is a huge story - it occupies so much space that it needs to be illustrated. You can't do that with pictures of the victims, so you end up having to print endless pictures of Savile.

Thank you for that much needed explanation on how newspapers work. I wasn't bloody born yesterday ffs.

I don't genuinely expect anything to change - to be honest there is probably a fair degree of prurience in these articles - but I cannot help feeling revolted by looking at those ghastly images of the man the media seems to unearth.

There's a poster with his catchphrase as their nn. I am seriously struggling with that one, but I don't feel I can pm them and ask them to change their name.

It just seems so tasteless. :(

I don't get papers but I watch a lot of news, and I can't bear looking at him.
There's one where he's running in gold lame shorts and vest that is shown again and again.
It makes me want to vomit, he is utterly revolting.
Mind you, I'm another one that never liked him, and if even I was aware of the rumours, how did we have to wait till he died for it to come out?
I wish he was still alive so we could see him punished, I really do.

I'm going to make two predictions - firstly, this could be the endof the BBC as we know it - secondly - next stop Hollywood. There've been rumours and talk and reports of paedophilia there for years, especially from child stars, and they're treated like people who say they were abducted by aliens. It's a big problem apparently, just needs to be blown open.

YANBU - and if they feel they must use a photo of him could it please not be the one of him wearing nothing but gold-coloured lurex shorts. I understand they use that one because it truly is creepy, but it's horrible and nauseating to look at.

I was always scared/freaked out by him. But I really wish I'd been wrong on this one.
